  1. 1. Detection and classification of internal flaws in laser powder bed fusion: application of in-situ monitoring for quality control of Hastelloy X builds

    Author : Claudia de Andrade Schwerz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; melt pool; productivity; flaw detection; nickel-based superalloy; powder bed fusion; lack of fusion; spatter; defects; Additive manufacturing; process monitoring; pores;

    Abstract : Additive manufacturing technologies, in particular laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), have received much attention in recent years due to their multiple advantages over traditional manufacturing. Yet, the usage of additively manufactured products is still quite limited, mainly due to two factors: the low repeatability, which is particularly relevant for applications where high performance is required from the materials, and the typically low productivity, particularly relevant for products with a substantial production volume. 2. 2. Finite Element Modelling of Eddy Current Non-Destructive Evaluation in Probability of Detection Studies

    Author : Anders Rosell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Eddy Current; Model Based Probability of Detection; Probability of Detection; Non-destructive Evaluation; Finite Element Modelling;

    Abstract : The goal of this work has been to evaluate the possibility to use mathematical modelling to characterize the capability and reliability of automated eddy current inspections. The safety in aerospace propulsion is critical. Components that are critical for the operation are therefore designed to withstand material degradation. READ MORE

  3. 3. Ultrasonic NDT in Defect Detection - Mathematical modelling

    Author : Håkan Wirdelius; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; crack; null field approach; transducers; optimisation; ultrasonics; elastic waves; nondestructive testing; T matrix method; inverse problem;

    Abstract : This thesis is concerned with the mathematical modelling of the ultrasonic nondestructive testing situation. The first part of the thesis treats a simplified model of an ultrasonic transducer and its implementation into a T-matrix method-based solution to a crack scattering problem. READ MORE

  4. 4. On model assisted probability of detection in eddy current evaluation

    Author : Anders Rosell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Eddy Current; Model Assisted Probability of Detection; Finite Element Modelling; Non-destructive Evaluation;

    Abstract : The goal of this work has been to investigate the possibility to use mathematical modelling to characterize the capability and reliability of automated eddy current (EC) inspections. EC evaluation is one of the most applied methods for non-destructive evaluation (NDE) and is studied within this work. READ MORE

  5. 5. Towards Secure Collaborative AI Service Chains

    Author : Vida Ahmadi Mehri; Kurt Tutschku; Dragos Ilie; Simone Fischer-Hübner; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : At present, Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems have been adopted in many different domains such as healthcare, robotics, automotive, telecommunication systems, security, and finance for integrating intelligence in their services and applications. The intelligent personal assistant such as Siri and Alexa are examples of AI systems making an impact on our daily lives. READ MORE
