16. High Temperature Fatigue Behaviour of Austenitic Stainless Steel : Microstructural Evolution during Dwell-Fatigue and Thermomechanical Fatigue
Abstract : The global energy consumption is increasing and together with global warming from greenhouse gas emission, a need for more environmentally friendly energy production processes is created. Higher efficiency of biomass power plants can be achieved by increasing temperature and pressure in the boiler section, this would increase the generation of electricity along with the reduction in emission of greenhouse gases e. 17. Tinnitus – an acceptance-based approach
Abstract : Tinnitus is a highly prevalent health condition creating moderate or severe interference on mood, sleep and daily functioning for a group of those affected. The aims of this thesis were 1) to explore the role of acceptance and psychological flexibility in understanding tinnitus interference both experimentally and with a longitudinal design 2) to evaluate the immediate and long-term outcomes of an acceptance based behaviour therapy (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; ACT) in the treatment of people with tinnitus and, 3) to investigate the relationship between treatment outcome and processes assumed to be the active ingredients of treatment (acceptance and cognitive defusion). 18. Hydropower Area Equivalents : Reduced Models for Efficient Simulation of Large-Scale Hydropower Systems
Abstract : With over 4000 TWh yearly electricity production worldwide, hydropower plays an important role in many power systems. Unlike many other renewable energy sources, hydropower has a certain degree of controllability and high levels of flexibility over several time scales. READ MORE

19. Flexible, Efficient, and Scalable Autonomous Exploration and Volumetric Mapping
Abstract : Autonomous mobile robots have in recent years started to enter households in the form of autonomous vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers. The applicability of more advanced and general purpose service robots is almost endless. That is, robots that can perform a variety of tasks, instead of being specialized for a single task. READ MORE

20. 3D printing of polymers onto textiles : An innovative approach to develop functional textiles
Abstract : This thesis aims at characterizing tridimensional (3D) printed polymers onto PET textile materials via fused deposition modeling (FDM) that uses both non-conductive and conductive polymers, optimizing their mechanical and electrical properties through statistical modeling and enhancing them with pre and post-treatments and the development of polymer blends. This research work supports the development of technical textiles through 3D printing that may have functionalities. READ MORE
