  1. 1. Moisture properties of self-levelling flooring compounds

    Author : Anders Anderberg; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fukttransport; secondary emissions; SLC; alkali; self-levelling; moisture transport; diffusion coefficient; självnivellerande golv; flooring screed; fuktegenskaper; flooring compound; sorption isotherm;

    Abstract : Self-levelling flooring compounds (SLC) are used to level substrates (mainly concrete slabs) before applying final floor coverings. Although it is an extensively used product, only limited research has so far been published concerning their moisture properties. READ MORE

  2. 2. Studies of moisture and alkalinity in self-levelling flooring compounds

    Author : Anders Anderberg; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; alkalinity; SLC; floor screed; moisture transport; self-levelling flooring compound; Material technology; diffusion coefficient; materialteknik; Materiallära; secondary emissions; sorption isotherm;

    Abstract : In recent decades there has been an increasing interest in the indoor environment and its connections with public health. One important topic discussed has been the relation between the moisture in buildings and health. Cementitious materials, when cast, contain excess water since this is necessary for workability and for flow properties. READ MORE

  3. 3. Emissions of organic compounds from technosphere articles : Measurements and modeling of mass transfer from consumer goods and building materials to air and water

    Author : Tomas Holmgren; Peter Haglund; Martin Scheringer; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Emission; model; DINP; DINCH; TiBP; TPP; Vinyl flooring; flat screen displays; LCD screen; concrete; Abraham solvation parameters; Piringer equation; linear free energy relation;

    Abstract : This thesis describes the development of a generic model for predicting the emissions of organic compounds from materials used in the manufacture of various goods and products. Many products contain organic substances that are not bound to the matrix formed by their constituent materials and are thus able to dissociate from the material and become transferred into the surrounding environment. 4. 4. Moisture redistribution in screeded concrete slabs

    Author : Magnus Åhs; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hysteresis; Scanning; Relative humidity; Moisture redistribution; Sorption isotherms; Screeded slab;

    Abstract : The principal objective for this licentiate thesis is to develop a methodology and evaluation model in order to make the future relative humidity in a screeded concrete slab predictable. Residual moisture in screeded concrete slabs may redistribute to the top screed surface under semi-permeable flooring, thus elevating the relative humidity, RH, and possibly exceed the critical humidity level. 5. 5. Redistribution of moisture and ions in cement based materials

    Author : Magnus Åhs; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Moisture redistribution; ion redistribution; cement based materials; hysteresis; sorption isotherm; scanning;

    Abstract : There were two principal objectives for this thesis. The first was to develop a methodology and evaluation model of moisture redistribution in order to make the future relative humidity in a screeded concrete slab predictable. The second objective was to develop a method to determine the critical humidity for ion transport in concrete. READ MORE
