6. Measurement and Analysis of Intracardiac Blood Flow and Vortex Ring Formation
Abstract : Increased understanding of the pumping mechanics of the heart are of great importance to develop diagnostics, treatment and prognostics for cardiovascular diseases. Blood flow in the heart is connected to its anatomy and function, and may therefore be a sensitive marker of cardiac health and disease. READ MORE

7. Numerical modelling of swirling drying flow
Abstract : Waste hydrochloric acid (HCl) from the pickling process at SSAB EMEA in Borl¨ange, Sweden, is regenerated using a technique called spray roasting where waste HCl is sprayed into a hot reactor through four spray nozzles at the top of the reactor. The regeneration (drying) process is driven by four natural gas burners placed symmetrically along the periphery of the reactor and causes the water in the waste acid droplets to evaporate. READ MORE

9. Experimental and numerical study of the thermal and hydraulic effect of EMC screens in radio base stations : detailed and compact models
Abstract : Today’s telecommunication cabinets use Electro Magnetic Compliance (EMC) screens in order to reduce electromagnetic noise that can cause some miss functions in electronic equipment. Many radio base stations (RBSs) use a 90-degree building architecture: the flow inlet is perpendicular to the EMC screen, which creates a complex flow, with a 90-degree air turn, expansions, compressions, perforated plates and PCBs. 10. Architecture and Applications of a Geovisual Analytics Framework
Abstract : The large and ever-increasing amounts of multi-dimensional, multivariate, multi-source, spatio-temporal data represent a major challenge for the future. The need to analyse and make decisions based on these data streams, often in time-critical situations, demands integrated, automatic and sophisticated interactive tools that aid the user to manage, process, visualize and interact with large data spaces.
