1. Fluorinated SiC CVD
Abstract : For the emerging semiconductor material silicon carbide (SiC) used in high power devices, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is the most prominent method to create the electrically active SiC epitaxial layers in the device. The process of growing such epitaxial layers is to use a hydrocarbon and silane diluted in hydrogen flow through a hot chamber where chemical reactions take place in such manner that Si and C finally deposit on the surface creating epitaxial SiC. 2. Selective Transformations of Allylic Compounds and Enol Derivatives : Synthesis of Fluorinated and Nitrogenated Scaffolds
Abstract : In this thesis, new synthetic methods to give access to molecules having fluorinated scaffolds and other polar functional groups have been developed. The methods give access to highly valuable organic compounds that may serve as building blocks in the synthesis of functionalized drug candidates. READ MORE

3. A Waterborne Colloidal Model System Consisting of Fluorinated Spheres Bearing Grafted PEG: Synthesis, Characterization and Properties
Abstract : Model systems have expanded our knowledge of numerous phenomena in Colloid Science, such as the appearance of glasses, order-disorder transitions involving crystals and attraction induced formation of gels. So far, the existing colloidal model systems have been limited mainly to nonaqueous media. READ MORE

5. Liquid Crystalline SIloxane Dimers - Advanced Materials with Enhanced Properties
Abstract : The liquid crystal state is a complex state with many kinds of different molecular attractive and repulsive forces that results in various kinds of phases. Since the pioneering works by Vorländer in the early 20th century, liquid crystal research has to a great extent been depending on careful systematic studies of the structure/property relationships in series of similar liquid crystalline materials.
