11. Inducing large-scale diffusion of innovation : An integrated actor- and system-level approach
Abstract : In order for the innovation process to be successful, not only do innovations need to be developed and reached the market, but, once they are available for users, they have to spread on a large scale. In the innovation literature, a complete explanation is lacking of why some innovations reach a phase of large-scale diffusion faster than others, including both actor- and system-level components. 12. Deposit formation in the grate-kiln process
Abstract : Deposit formation in the grate-kiln process is a challenge for the iron ore pellet production industry. The deposits cause disturbances that affect the production capacity of the pelletizing plant. READ MORE

13. NOx Formation in Rotary Kilns for Iron Ore Pelletization
Abstract : The production of iron ore pellets is often performed in the so-called Grate-Kiln process. The aim of the process is to oxidize the magnetite (Fe3O4) to hematite (Fe2O3) and to sinter the pellets so they can be used in steel manufacturing. READ MORE

14. Mechanisms of Deposit formation in the Grate-kiln Process
Abstract : Fly ash particles from the combustion of coal together with disintegrated particles arising from iron-ore pellets result in accumulation of deposits on the refractory linings of the grate-kiln induration machine during the iron-ore pelletizing process. Deposit formation gives rise to decreased production efficiency, unscheduled shutdowns, high cleaning costs, and equipment failures. READ MORE

15. Slag formation in fixed bed combustion of phosphorus-poor biomass
Abstract : To handle a great demand for biomass, alternative biomasses beyond stem wood are being introduced into the solid fuel combustion market, fuels with generally higher (>0,5 wt-%) ash content and different fuel ash compositions compared to stem wood, such as forest residue, bark, grass and straw. Unfortunately, combustion of these alternative fuels often causes more ash related problems such as fouling, slagging and higher particle emissions compared to combustion of stem wood. READ MORE
