16. Enzymatic synthesis of lipids containing omega-3 fatty acids
Abstract : Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) are omega-3 fatty acids, which have health promoting effects. Since they are highly prone to oxidation, they should be protected, in particular DHA. READ MORE

17. Lipid Composition and Deterioration in Light and Dark Muscle of Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
Abstract : Nutritionally valuable lipids, including lipid classes and their fatty acids in light and dark muscle, have been determined and analyzed in farmed rainbow trout. Dark muscle was found to have a higher content of total lipids than light muscle, 7.3 wt% versus 3.0 wt%, which was mostly accounted for by neutral lipids, especially triacylglycerols. READ MORE

18. Macrophage Activation and AP-1 in Atherosclerosis
Abstract : High levels of very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) and intermediate density lipoprotein (IDL) have been identified as independent risk factors for coronary heart disease. Hypertriglyceridemia is generally associated with an increased expression of inflammatory makers and inflammation is thought to contribute to atherosclerosis and its complications. READ MORE

19. Growth hormone regulation of LFABP and PPARa. Genes involved in hepatic lipid metabolism
Abstract : Growth hormone (GH) is known to have several important effects in the control of metabolism. The aim of these studies was to investigate how GH regulates genes involved in fatty acid transport and metabolism in the liver and the interaction between GH and fatty acids in this regulation. 20. Islet hormonal hypersecretion and metformin’s effect on islet hormonal secretion studied in vitro and in vivo
Abstract : Childhood obesity has surged globally. Elevated levels of free fatty acids contribute to hyperinsulinemia, hyperproinsulinemia, and hyperglucagonemia connected with both obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Metformin has beneficial effects on islets by influencing metabolism and reducing stress-induced cell death. READ MORE
