  1. 1. Learning control for flex-fuel CI engine and fuel cell

    Author : Xiufei Li; Förbränningsmotorer; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flex-fuel CI Engine; Fuel Cell; Model Predictive Control; Learning Control; Adaptive Control; Gas System Model; Ignition Delay Model; Data-based Modeling; Gaussian process;

    Abstract : This thesis investigated the modeling and control problems in the context of the flex-fuel compression-ignition (CI) engine and fuel cell, which shows great potential in the transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy sources.The modeling parts included the flex-fuel engine combustion process and intake system, and the system scale fuel cell model. 2. 2. On direct hydrogen fuel cell vehicles : modelling and demonstration

    Author : Kristina Haraldsson; Per Alvfors; Dougal J. Nelson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical engineering; direct hydrogen; Proton Exchange Membrane; PEM; fuel cell; fuel cell vehicle; fuel cell hybrid vehicles; on-board hydrogen storage; Kemiteknik; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : In this thesis, direct hydrogen Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell systems in vehicles are investigated through modelling, field tests and public acceptance surveys. A computer model of a 50 kW PEM fuel cell system was developed. The fuel cell system efficiency is approximately 50% between 10 and 45% of the rated power. READ MORE

  3. 3. Modelling and Lagrangian control of mixed traffic: platoon coordination, congestion dissipation and state reconstruction

    Author : Mladen Čičić; Karl Henrik Johansson; Miroslav Krstić; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; traffic control; Lagrangian control; mixed traffic models; Intelligent Transportation Systems; Connected and Automated Vehicles; traffic congestion; platoon coordination; moving bottlenecks; bottleneck decongestion; stop-and-go wave dissipation; traffic state reconstruction; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Traffic congestion is a constantly growing problem, with a wide array of negative effects on the society, from wasted time and productivity to elevated air pollution and reduction of safety. The introduction of connected, autonomous vehicles enables a new, Lagrangian paradigm for sensing andcontrolling the traffic, by directly using connected vehicles inside the traffic flow, as opposed to the classical, Eulerian paradigm, which relies on stationary equipment on the road. 4. 4. Control and Optimization of Fuel Cell Based Powertrain for Automotive Applications

    Author : Qian Xun; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Power distribution; Cut-off frequency; Fuel cell; Chance-constraint co-design optimization; Supercapacitors; Convex programming; Electric vehicles; Load disturbance compensator; DC-link voltage; Robust co-design optimization; Batteries;

    Abstract : Fuel cell powered electric vehicles, with fast-refueling time, high energy density, and zero CO2 emissions, are becoming a promising solution for future fossil-free transportation. However, the relatively slow dynamic response and the inability of recovering the regenerative energy make vehicles solely powered by fuel cells not an immediately attractive solution. READ MORE

  5. 5. Control of EGR and VGT for Emission Control and Pumping Work Minimization in Diesel Engines

    Author : Johan Wahlström; Lars Nielsen; Lars Eriksson; Gianfranco Rizzo; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Legislators steadily increase the demands on lowered emissions from heavy duty vehicles. To meet these demands it is necessary to integrate technologies like Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and Variable Geometry Turbochargers (VGT) together with advanced control systems. READ MORE
