  1. 21. Novel approaches for achieving full density powder metallurgy steels

    Author : Maheswaran Vattur Sundaram; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cr- and Mo-alloyed PM steels; vacuum sintering; high density; full density; hot isostatic pressing.; cold isostatic pressing; liquid phase sintering; master alloy; double pressing-double sintering; powder metallurgy steels; sintering; water atomised powder;

    Abstract : Powder metallurgy (PM) is one of the most resource-efficient methods for manufacturing structural components with complex shapes. The utilisation of the metal powder to shape the components allows to minimise material waste and increase energy efficiency. READ MORE

  2. 22. Spectral Efficiency and Fairness Maximization in Full-Duplex Cellular Networks

    Author : Jose Mairton B. da Silva Jr.; Carlo Fischione; Gabor Fodor; Ioannis Krikidis; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; full-duplex; power control; user assignment; cellular networks; fairness; spectral efficiency; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Abstract : Future cellular networks, the so-called 5G, are expected to provide explosive data volumes and data rates. To meet such a demand, the research communities are investigating new wireless transmission technologies. One of the most promising candidates is in-band full-duplex communications. READ MORE

  3. 23. Improved energy efficiency in industrial small and medium-sized enterprises : Regional energy efficiency network policy programs

    Author : Ida Johansson; Patrik Thollander; Nawzad Mardan; Inger-Lise Svensson; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Regional energy efficiency policy; Energy efficiency networks; Industrial SMEs; Barriers; Drivers; Energy management; Regional energipolicy; energieffektiviseringsnätverk; industriella SMF; hinder; drivkrafter; energiledning; inget Strategiskt forskningsområde SFO ; no Strategic Research Area SFO ;

    Abstract : Despite large potential for improved energy efficiency in industrial small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the full potential is not realized due to barriers to energy efficiency. Two primary ways to realize the potential are to deploy energy management practices and conduct energy audits. READ MORE

  4. 24. In case of emergency : Collaboration exercises at the boundaries between emergency service organizations

    Author : Annika Andersson; Berner Lindström; Eric Carlström; Hans Rystedt; Högskolan Väst; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Exercise; Collaboration; Emergency preparedness; Emergency work; Police; Ambulance; Rescue service; Learning; Boundaries; Arbetsintegrerat lärande; Work Integrated Learning; Pedagogik; Pedagogics;

    Abstract : Due to the emergent and dynamic nature of incidents, the complexity of emergency work is often referred to as a challenge for learning. Another recurrent challenge in emergency work is that of collaboration at and across established organizational boundaries involving actors with specific types of expertise who are operating under different regulations and responsibilities. 5. 25. Mechanistic-Empirical Modelling of Flexible Pavement Performance : Verifications Using APT Measurements

    Author : Abubeker W. Ahmed; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Hervè Di Benedetto; Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Performance; Deformation; Model not math ; Rutting wheel ; Viscoelasticity; Elasticity; Axle load; Flexible pavement; Laboratory not an organization ; Test; Thesis; Heavy vehicle simulator; Wheel tracking test; 32 Road: Pavement design; 32 Road: Pavement design; Transportvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Abstract : Mechanistic-Empirical  (M-E)  pavement  design  procedures  are  composed  of  a  reliable  response model to estimate the state of stress in the pavement and distress models in order to predict the different types of pavement distresses due to the prevailing traffic and environmental conditions. One of the main objectives of this study was to develop a response model based on multilayer elastic  theory   (MLET)  with  improved  computational  performance  by   optimizing  the   time consuming parts of the MLET processes.
