1. Sobolev-Type Spaces : Properties of Newtonian Functions Based on Quasi-Banach Function Lattices in Metric Spaces
Abstract : This thesis consists of four papers and focuses on function spaces related to first-order analysis in abstract metric measure spaces. The classical (i.e., Sobolev) theory in Euclidean spaces makes use of summability of distributional gradients, whose definition depends on the linear structure of Rn. READ MORE

2. Characterisations of function spaces on fractals
Abstract : This thesis consists of three papers, all of them on the topic of function spaces on fractals. The papers summarised in this thesis are:Paper I Mats Bodin, Wavelets and function spaces on Mauldin-Williams fractals, Research Report in Mathematics No. 7, Umeå University, 2005. READ MORE

3. Studies of some Operators of Harmonic Analysis in certain Function Spaces with Applications to PDEs
Abstract : The study in this PhD thesis aims at development of certain mathematical methods used in applications, in particular, in the study of regularity properties of solutions in various mathematical models described by Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). To this end, we study various operators of harmonic analysis in certain function spaces, since solutions to many PDEs may be expressed in terms of such operators. READ MORE

4. Asymptotic Problems on Homogeneous Spaces
Abstract : This PhD thesis consists of a summary and five papers which all deal with asymptotic problems on certain homogeneous spaces. In Paper I we prove asymptotic equidistribution results for pieces of large closed horospheres in cofinite hyperbolic manifolds of arbitrary dimension. READ MORE

5. Interpolation of Hilbert spaces
Abstract : (i) We prove that intermediate Banach spaces A, B with respect to arbitrary Hilbert couples H, K are exact interpolation iff they are exact K-monotonic, i.e. the condition f0∊A and the inequality K(t,g0;K)≤K(t,f0;H), t>0 imply g0∊B and ||g0||B≤||f0||A (K is Peetre's K-functional).
