6. Methods for Characterisation of Pressing Die Surfaces
Abstract : Design and manufacture of dies and moulds is a critical aspect of many production systems since the manufacturing and try-out of new dies and moulds often is essential in determining the lead-time and quality of a new production system. In the automotive industry, many new car models are introduced each year and for each of these models, a new set of pressing dies has to be designed and manufactured. READ MORE

7. Coarse-Grained Models of Ionic Solutions
Abstract : Room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) are compounds composed entirely of ions, which are liquid at temperatures below 100 degrees Celsius. Their high ionic strength and strong coupling make them useful for a number of applications, e.g. as electrolytes in supercapacitors. READ MORE

8. Theoretical Studies Using Simple Ionic Liquid Models
Abstract : Room Temperature Ionic Liquids (RTILs) are organic salts that melt below 100 degrees Celsius. The advantages of RTILs, such as high ionic concentrations and low melting points, promote several potential applications. For instance, RTILs could be utilized in manufacturing energy storage devices, and as efficient solvents. READ MORE

9. Functional understanding of space : Representing spatial knowledge using concepts grounded in an agent's purpose
Abstract : This thesis examines the role of function in representations of space by robots - that is, dealing directly and explicitly with those aspects of space and objects in space that serve some purpose for the robot. It is suggested that taking function into account helps increase the generality and robustness of solutions in an unpredictable and complex world, and the suggestion is affirmed by several instantiations of functionally conceived spatial models. 10. Functional MRI characterization of animal models of parkinsonism
Abstract : Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second most common neurological disorder. It is characterized by the progressive development of motor symptoms - bradykinesia, resting tremor, muscular rigidity and difficulty with postural control - which serve as criterias for its clinical diagnosis.
