11. Dawn Raids under Challenge : A Study of the European Commission’s Dawn Raid Practices in Competition Cases from a Fundamental Rights Perspective
Abstract : This doctoral dissertation examines the European Commission’s dawn raid practices in competition cases from a fundamental rights perspective. In recent years the Commission has adopted a new and more aggressive enforcement policy, which reflects the widespread understanding that cartels and abuse of market power are harmful to the economy and should be punished. 12. Limitations of maximal oxygen uptake during whole-body exercise
Abstract : Oxygen uptake increases linearly with increased running speed or rate of work and finally reaches a maximum beyond which no effort can drive it further. This phenomenon is referred to as the plateau in oxygen uptake . READ MORE

13. Relay Feedback and Multivariable Control
Abstract : This doctoral thesis treats three issues in control engineering related to relay feedback and multivariable control systems. Linear systems with relay feedback is the first topic. Such systems are shown to exhibit several interesting behaviors. READ MORE

14. Fundamental investigation to improve the quality of cold mix asphalt
Abstract : Cold mix asphalt (CMA) emulsion technology could become an attractive option for the road industry as it offers lower startup and equipment installation costs, energy consumption and environmental impact than traditional alternatives. The adhesion between bitumen and aggregates is influenced by diverse parameters, such as changes in surface free energies of the binder and aggregates or the presence of moisture or dust on the surface of aggregates, mixing temperatures, surface textures (including open porosity), nature of the minerals present and their surface chemical composition, as well as additives in the binder phase. 15. Push the limitations of crystal structure determination by 3D electron diffraction : From inorganic porous materials to biomolecules
Abstract : Structure elucidation is fundamental to understanding the chemical and physical properties of a material. Three-dimensional electron diffraction (3D ED) has shown great power for structure determination of nanometer- or submicrometer-sized crystals that are either too small or too complex for X-ray diffraction.
