1. An Experimental and Theoretical Study of Decentralized Gas Fired Liquid Heating
Abstract : The effects on the energy situation in industry when gas fired liquid heaters replace steam have been determined by energy surveys performed in a brewery and a slaughterhouse, measurements of the performance and emissions from liquid heaters installed in these industries, and theoretical analyses of the potential energy saving. The theoretical study in the first part of the project provides information that allows assessment of the effects on the energy situation, of part or complete conversion to decentralized heating, under the conditions prevailing in the industries concerned. 2. Externally fired gas turbine cycle based on biomass gasification gas as fuel
Abstract : Energy services are essential for the development of societies, reduce poverty, and improve the living standards of inhabitants. The conventional routes to provide energy services employ fossil fuels. However, this involves environmental and availability concerns. READ MORE

3. Development of catalysts for natural gas-fired gas turbine combustors
Abstract : Due to continuously stricter regulations regarding emissions from power generation processes, further development of existing gas turbine combustors is essential. A promising alternative to conventional flame combustion in gas turbines is catalytic combustion, which can result in ultralow emission levels of NOx, CO and unburned hydrocarbons. READ MORE

4. Biomass and Natural Gas Hybrid Combined Cycles
Abstract : Biomass is one of the main natural resources in Sweden.Increased utilisation of biomass for energy purposes incombined heat and power (CHP) plants can help the country meetits nuclear phase-out commitment. READ MORE

5. Integrating Biomass in Existing Natural Gas-Fired Power Plants
Abstract : Using biomass for utility heat and electricity generation can supplement use of fossil fuels, whose emissions of carbon dioxide likely risk causing serious climate change and ocean acidification. Biomass as energy source is a limited resource and when used as fuel in thermal power plants this currently results in higher production costs than using fossil fuels such as natural gas and coal.
