11. Holocene vegetation dynamics and climate changes in the Torneträsk area, northern Sweden
Abstract : The aim of this study was to reconstruct the Holocene vegetation history and the climate changes in a subarctic area. The results are based on pollen and macrofossil records from six lakes in the Torneträsk area. The lakes are situated at altitudes between 370 and 999 m a.s. READ MORE

12. Tree-limit ecotonal response to Holocene climate change in the Scandes Mountains of west-central Sweden
Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to reconstruct the Holocene vegetational and climatic development in the Sylarna-Storulvån area, western Jämtland, in the central Scandes Mountains. Temporal trends and fluctuations in the elevation and vegetational character of the tree-limit ecotone were studied mainly by means of pollen and plant macrofossil analysis of two lake sediment sequences (Lakes Stentjärn and Spåime), located above the present-day tree-limit. 13. Influence of Sea Surface Temperature on Rainfall and Runof in Northeastern South America: Analysis and Modeling
Abstract : This work represents an amalgam of a group of studies with the purpose of understanding the influence of the Pacific and Atlantic sea surface temperature on precipitation and river discharge in Northeastern South America. Sea surface temperature is a good representative of phenomena such as ENSO that, in turn, cause worldwide climate variability. READ MORE

14. Spatial Variation in Near-Ground Radiation and Low Temperature - Interactions with Forest Vegetation
Abstract : Low temperature has a large impact on the survival and distribution of plants. Interactive effects with high irradiance lead to cold-induced photoinhibition, which may impact on the establishment and growth of tree seedlings. READ MORE

15. Space Weather - Solar magnetic variation and its impact on Earth's atmosphere
Abstract : A solar magnetic field is continuously being created in the solar interior. As the field evolves outward through the solar atmosphere and into the enveloping heliosphere, it causes effects on a wide range of temporal and spatial scales. READ MORE
