1. Glacial dynamics and till genesis in hilly terrain : A study in the Tallträsk area, central-northern Sweden
Abstract : This study deals with the influence of topography on glacial dynamics and the genesis of till in an area of moder-ate bedrock relief. An area 25 km west of Lycksele, northern Sweden, was investigated using geomorphological and sedimentological methods. READ MORE

2. Force Budget Analysis of Glacier Flow : Ice Dynamical Studies on Storglaciären, Sweden, and Ice Flow Investigations of Outlet Glaciers in Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica
Abstract : This thesis contributes to the understanding of glacier response to climate change by ice dynamical studies on Storglaciären, Sweden, and Bonnevie-Svendsenbreen, Kibergbreen and Plogbreen in Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica. Ice surface velocities, ice geometry and temperature information is fed through a force budget model to calculate ice mass outflux of these glacial systems via three-dimensional stress distributions for a flux-gate. 3. Sedimentology and Geomorphology of Glacial Landforms in Southern Sweden : Studying the Landscape of a Melting Ice Sheet
Abstract : Ice sheets are disintegrating due to global warming. One factor controlling ice-sheet behavior is the processes active beneath the ice sheet. In particular, processes connected to glacial meltwater drainage are essential to understand ice-sheets behavior in a warming climate. READ MORE

4. The drumlin problem : streamlined subglacial bedforms in southern Sweden
Abstract : This thesis investigates stream-lined subglacial bedforms (often referred to as drumlins) in southern Sweden. The broad aim of this is to contribute to the solution of the ‘drumlin problem’. The term drumlin has come to be applied to a wide range of features whose internal architecture (core) and overall morphology are seen to vary greatly. READ MORE

5. Systematics, phylogeography and polyploid evolution in the Dactylorhiza maculata complex (Orchidaceae)
Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to investigate and describe different aspects of variation in the Dactylorhiza maculata complex and to relate the variation patterns to underlying biological processes such as Quaternary migration history, hybridization and polyploid evolution. The variation patterns were analysed at various geographic levels using molecular markers (plastid DNA and ITS of nrDNA), cytological data, morphometry and ecological data. READ MORE
