    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Carbochemistry; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Chemical technology and engineering; metabolism; Biokemi; Metabolism; Biochemistry; Barley straw; Wheat straw; DDGS; Fermentation; SSF; Enzymatic hydrolysis; H2SO4; Ethanol production; Steam pretreatment; petrochemistry; fuels and explosives technology; Petrokemi; bränslen; sprängämnen; Wood; pulp and paper technology; Pappers- och massateknik; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Abstract : Bioethanol has received increasing attention as an alternative to petrol due to the current dependency on supplies from other countries and due to the increased concentration of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In this thesis, the development of 2nd generation production processes for bioethanol production from the lignocellulosic part of biomass is discussed. READ MORE

    Abstract : Shikimic acid production using recombinant E.coli has been developed during the past 15 years due to the increased demand of this product, primarily as a starting material for the anti-influensa medicine Tamiflu?. A detailed metabolic analysis of a shikimic acid producing E. READ MORE

  3. 18. Fast isolation of proteins from bioreactors using affinity chromatography techniques

    Author : Eva Pålsson; Avdelningen för klinisk genetik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chromatography; protein purification; analyses; dispersion; chromatography matrices; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Metabolism; expanded bed; metabolism; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Abstract : The purification of proteins from raw materials like fermentation broth and other biological sources usually involves several purification steps and is rather time consuming and expensive. This is a major concern in the production of many important protein products e.g. pharmaceuticals such as insulin and blood coagulation factors. READ MORE

    Abstract : Originally studying the molecular mechanisms for the insulin-like effects of growth hormone (GH), lipogenesis and antilipolysis, in isolated rat adipocytes we found that the GH receptor (GHR) was tyrosine phosphorylated in response to GH in cells that were responsive to these effects. Then, as Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) was described as a GH-stimulated and GHR-associated tyrosine kinase, we found that JAK2 was tyrosine phosphorylated in response to GH in responsive cells. READ MORE
