  1. 1. On Certificate Transparency Verification and Unlinkability of Websites Visited by Tor Users

    Author : Rasmus Dahlberg; Tobias Pulls; Stefan Lindskog; Steven J. Murdoch; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Auditing; Certificate Transparency; DNS; Gossip; Side-Channels; Timing Attacks; Tor; Tor Browser; Website Fingerprinting; Website Oracles; Granskning; Certificate Transparency; DNS; Skvaller; Sidokanaler; Tidtagningsattacker; Tor; Torswebbläsare; Mönsterigenkänning; Webbplatsorakel; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Certificate Transparency is an ecosystem of logs, monitors, and auditors that hold certificate authorities accountable while issuing certificates. We show how the amount of trust that TLS clients and domain owners need to place in Certificate Transparency can be reduced, both in the context of existing gradual deployments and the largely unexplored area of Tor. 2. 2. Contributions to Performance Modeling and Management of Data Centers

    Author : Rerngvit Yanggratoke; Rolf Stadler; Filip De Turck; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cloud computing; distributed management; resource allocation; gossip protocols; management objectives; distributed object store; object allocation policy;

    Abstract : Over the last decade, Internet-based services, such as electronic-mail, music-on-demand, and social-network services, have changed the ways we communicate and access information. Usually, the key functionality of such a service is in backend components, which are located in a data center, a facility for hosting computing systems and related equipment. READ MORE

  3. 3. Gossip-based Algorithms for Information Dissemination and Graph Clustering

    Author : Fatemeh Rahimian; Seif Haridi; Eiko Yoneki; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Decentralized algorithms are becoming ever more prevalent in almost all real-world applications that are either data intensive, computation intensive or both. This thesis presents a few decentralized solutions for large-scale (i) data dissemination, (ii) graph partitioning, and (iii) data disambiguation. READ MORE

  4. 4. Distributed Monitoring and Resource Management for Large Cloud Environments

    Author : Fetahi Zebenigus Wuhib; Rolf Stadler; Danny Raz; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; decentralized management; engineering protocols; distributed monitoring; resource management; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation; Computer science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : Over the last decade, the number, size and complexity of large-scale networked systems has been growing fast, and this trend is expected to accelerate. The best known example of a large-scale networked system is probably the Internet, while large datacenters for cloud services are the most recent ones. READ MORE

  5. 5. Towards Decentralized Graph Learning

    Author : Lodovico Giaretta; Sarunas Girdzijauskas; Henrik Boström; Leila Bahri; Márk Jelasity; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Abstract : Current Machine Learning (ML) approaches typically present either a centralized or federated architecture. However, these architectures cannot easily keep up with some of the challenges introduced by recent trends, such as the growth in the number of IoT devices, increasing awareness about the privacy and security implications of extensive data collection, and the rise of graph-structured data and Graph Representation Learning.
