1. Scattering Amplitudes in Supersymmetric Quantum Chromodynamics and Gravity
Abstract : Quantum field theory is a theoretical framework for the description of nature in terms of fundamental particles, fields and their interactions. In the quantum regime, elementary scattering processes are observables in many experiments and studied in theoretical physics. READ MORE

2. Phenomenology of Diffractive Higgs Production and Large Extra Dimensions
Abstract : This thesis is based on phenomenological predictions for high energy particle collisions from two different theoretical models. The first two papers deal with uncertainties in exclusive reactions of type proton + proton -> proton + proton + Higgs. READ MORE

3. Dijet angular distributions in proton-proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV and root s = 14 TeV
Abstract : Dijet angular distributions provide an excellent tool for looking at high transverse momentum parton interactions in order to study both QCD and new physics processes. With the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) recently brought into use, an unprecedented energy regime has opened up. ATLAS is one of the experiments at the LHC. READ MORE

4. A Kerr-full Study of Higher-Spin Amplitudes : An on-shell construction of higher-spin amplitudes for black holes and strings
Abstract : Recently, it was shown that Kerr black holes can be described via the classical infinite-spin limit of a special class of scattering amplitudes in a massive higher-spin quantum field theory. Although this approach has successfully obtained state-of-the-art results for spinning black-hole binaries, only the three-point amplitude that describes Kerr is known in full generality and a full understanding of the underlying Lagrangian is still missing. 5. Thermophysical Modelling and Mechanical Stability of Cometary Nuclei
Abstract : Comets are the most primordial and least evolved bodies in the Solar System. As such, they are unique sources of information regarding the early history of the Solar System. However, little is known about cometary nuclei since they are very difficult to observe due to the obscuring coma. READ MORE
