  1. 1. New Techniques for Estimation of Source Parameters : Applications to Airborne Gravity and Pseudo-Gravity Gradient Tensors

    Author : Majid Beiki; Laust Pedersen; Mehrdad Bastani; Mark Pilkington; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Gravity gradient tensor; pseudo-gravity; magnetic field; eigenvector analysis; least squares algorithm; strike direction; source parameter estimation; analytic signal; Euler deconvolution; joint inversion; infinite dike model; geological contact model; Solid earth physics; Fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik;

    Abstract : Gravity gradient tensor (GGT) data contains the second derivatives of the Earth’s gravitational potential in three orthogonal directions. GGT data can be measured either using land, airborne, marine or space platforms. READ MORE

  2. 2. Gravity Illustrated. Spacetime Edition

    Author : Rickard Jonsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; embeddings; pedagogical techniques; curved spacetime; optical geometry; gyroscope precession; inertial forces;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with essentially four different topics within general relativity: pedagogical techniques for illustrating curved spacetime, inertial forces, gyroscope precession and optical geometry. Concerning the pedagogical techniques, I investigate two distinctly different methods, the dual and the absolute method. READ MORE

  3. 3. Cosmological models, nonideal fluids and viscous forces in general relativity

    Author : Daniele Gregoris; Kjell Rosquist; Alan Coley; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; gravity; exact model; black hole; friction; teoretisk fysik; Theoretical Physics;

    Abstract : This thesis addresses the open questions of providing a cosmological model describing an accelerated expanding Universe without violating the energy conditions or a model that contributes to the physical interpretation of the dark energy. The former case is analyzed considering a closed model based on a regular lattice of black holes using the Einstein equation in vacuum. READ MORE

  4. 4. Empirical Sudies in Trade, Growth and Integration

    Author : Rasha M Tostensson; Nationalekonomiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Agglomeration; Urban Giants; Sensitivity Analysis; Income Distribution; Comparative Costs; Gravity Equation; Trade Volume; trade in the Middle East and North Africa; Total factor Productivity; Knowledge Transfer; Long-Run Growth; European Integration; Trade barriers.; International commerce; Internationell ekonomi;

    Abstract : The present study is composed of a series of six independent yet related articles treating various aspects of international trade and economic growth. In Chapter two the effects of European Integration (EI) on long-run economic growth is studied. Contrary to earlier empirical results long-run effects of EI are identified. READ MORE

  5. 5. Bilateral shipping and trade : Swedish-Finnish experiences in the post-war period

    Author : Lars Fredrik Andersson; Olle Krantz; Jari Ojala; Umeå universitet; []
