  1. 16. Towards the design of flexibility management in smart grids : A techno-institutional perspective

    Author : Cherrelle Eid; Rudi Hakvoort; Weijnen Weijnen; Yashar Araghi; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy; electricity; regulation; European Union; distribution networks; balancing markets; distributed energy resources; congestion management; market transparency; European governance; European modes of regulation; regulatory change; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : The European policy focus on smart grids implies their development as an indispensable part of the future power system. However, the definition of a smart grid is broad and vague, and the actual implementation of a smart grid can differ significantly, depending on the stakeholders involved. READ MORE

  2. 17. Expansion Governance of the Integrated North Seas Offshore Grid

    Author : João Gorenstein Dedecca; Paulien M. Herder; Rudi A. Hakvoort; Amineh Ghorbani; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy Union; expansion planning; governance; HVDC; myopic optimization; North Seas; offshore grid; offshore wind; simulation;

    Abstract : The expansion of offshore power transmission and generation in the North Seas of Europe is accelerating rapidly. This is due to several drivers, including the decarbonization and reform of the European power system, and innovations in offshore wind and high-voltage direct current transmission. READ MORE

  3. 18. Optimal Energy and Flexibility Dispatch of Grid-Connected Microgrids

    Author : Kyriaki Antoniadou-Plytaria; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; flexibility; microgrids; Battery energy storage; optimization.; energy scheduling; energy management; distribution network;

    Abstract : This thesis proposes an optimization model to efficiently schedule energy and flexibilities of a grid-connected microgrid (MG) with non-dispatchable renewable energy sources and battery energy storages (BESs). The model can also be used to coordinate the MG operation with the connected upstream distribution grid and to assess the MG flexibility considering economic viability, technical feasibility, and BES degradation. 4. 19. Optimal Energy Scheduling of Grid-connected Microgrids with Battery Energy Storage

    Author : Kyriaki Antoniadou-Plytaria; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy management; Battery energy storage; distribution network; optimization; energy scheduling; microgrids;

    Abstract : The coupling of small-scale renewable-based energy sources, such as photovoltaic systems, with residential battery energy storages forms clusters of local energy resources and customers, which can be represented as controllable entities to the main distribution grid. The operation of these clusters is similar to that of grid-connected microgrids. READ MORE

  5. 20. Leg ulcer management in primary care with special reference to pinch grafting

    Author : Rut Öien; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; rheumatology locomotion; Skelett; muskelsystem; reumatologi; General practice; medical training; Allmän medicinsk utövning; medicinsk utbildning; muscle system; Skeleton; diameter product; grid tracing; digital planimetry; ulcer size; pain relief; vasculitis; rheumatoid arthritis; cost analysis; healing rate; pinch grafting; aetiology; prevalence; Leg ulcer; primary care;

    Abstract : Wound management in primary and community care was investigated throughout a period of 12 years within a well-defined population in one county in Southern Sweden. The estimated prevalence of chronic leg and foot ulcers was 0.19% in 1998 and the mean prevalence was 0.20% during the years 1994-1998. READ MORE
