  1. 16. Thermal modelling and evaluation of borehole heat transfer

    Author : Saqib Javed; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ground source heat pump; fluid temperature; borehole; short-term; thermal response test; groundwater-filled; optimization; load aggregation; simulation; recovery; step-response; long-term; ground heat exchanger; times; design; ground-coupled;

    Abstract : The use of ground source heat pump systems to provide heating and cooling inbuildings has increased greatly in the last decade or so. These systems have a highpotential for energy efficiency, which has environmental and economicadvantages. READ MORE

  2. 17. Biomechanical analyses of flywheel resistance exercise : From a space- and ground-based perspective

    Author : Maria Sjöberg; Ola Eiken; Elena Gutierrez-Farewik; Hans E Berg; Patrik Sundblad; Loren FZ Chiu; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; AnyBody Modeling System; concentric; eccentric; eccentric overload; inverse dynamics; knee extensors; microgravity; musculoskeletal deconditioning; net-joint moment; AnyBody Modeling System; excentrisk; excentrisk överbelastning; invers dynamik; knäextensorer; koncentrisk; ledmoment; mikrogravitation; muskuloskeletal nedbrytning; Teknik och hälsa; Technology and Health;

    Abstract : Astronauts suffer degradation of postural muscles and weight-bearing bones during long-duration spaceflight. Resistance exercise is used as a primary countermeasure against these degradations. READ MORE

  3. 18. Machine Learning Concepts for Service Data Interoperability

    Author : Jacob Nilsson; Fredrik Sandin; Jerker Delsing; Marcus Liwicki; Tapio Heikkilä; Luleå tekniska universitet; []

  4. 19. Variation-Aware System Design Simulation Methodology for Capacitive BCC Transceivers

    Author : Muhammad Irfan Kazim; Jacob Wikner; Svante Signell; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Capacitive body coupled communication (BCC), frequency range 500 kHz to 15 MHz, is considered an emerging alternate short range wireless technology which can meet the stringent low power consumption (< 1 mW) and low data rate (< 100 kbps) requirements for the next generation of connected devices for applications like internet-of-things (IoT) and wireless sensor network (WSN). But a reliable solution for this mode of communication covering all possible body positions and maximum communication distances around the human body could not be presented so far, despite its inception around 20 years back in 1995. 5. 20. Vibration transfer process during vibratory sheet pile driving : from source to soil

    Author : Fanny Deckner; Staffan Hintze; Kenneth Viking; Steinar Nordal; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ground vibrations; sheet piles; vibratory driving; vibration transfer process; instrumentation system; field tests; numerical modelling; vibration prediction; markvibrationer; spont; vibrodrivning; vibrationsöverföringsprocessen; instrumenteringssystem; fältförsök; numerisk modellering; vibrationsprognosticering; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Abstract : Vibratory driven sheet piles are a cost-effective retaining wall structure, and in coming decades the continued use of this method will be crucial for minimising costs within the construction sector. However, vibratory driven sheet piles are a source of ground vibrations, which may harm structures or induce disturbance. READ MORE
