1. Altered movement patterns and deviating muscular activity in individuals with anterior cruciate ligament injury
Abstract : The purpose of this thesis was to increase the understanding of altered movement patterns in individuals with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in order to improve ACL rehabilitation, and to develop an observational instrument termed Test for Substitution Patterns (TSP) for standardized, quantifiable scoring of altered movement patterns in legs and trunk. In all, 142 participants, 93 with ACL-rupture (37 women) and 49 uninjured participants were investigated. READ MORE

2. Autonomic reactivity in muscle pain : clinical and experimental assessment
Abstract : There are numerous indications of possible involvement of the autonomic nervous system in the genesis of chronic pain. The possibility exists that sympathetic activation is related to motor dysfunction and changes in sensory processing, which have otherwise been implicated in musculoskeletal disorders. READ MORE

4. Dynamic skull reshaping for sagittal craniosynostosis
Abstract : Objectives: The present investigation was aimed at expanding the knowledge base regarding the skull morphology in sagittal craniosynostosis and at assessing the safety and efficacy of two dynamic cranioplasty procedures, the modified pi-plasty procedure and the spring-mediated cranioplasty. Methods: The patient population consisted of children with non-syndromic sagittal craniosynostosis. READ MORE

5. Non-Invasive Assessment of Liver Fibrosis with 31P-Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy and Dynamic Contrast Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Abstract : The present study aims at demonstrating phosphorus metabolite concentration changes and alterations in uptake/excretion of a hepatocyte specific contrast agent in patients with diffuse - or suspected diffuse - liver disease by applying two non-invasive quantitative MR techniques and to compare the results with histo-pathological findings, with focus on liver fibrosis. In the first study phosphorus-31 MR spectroscopy using slice selection (DRESS) was implemented.
