1. Growth rate control of periplasmic product retention in Escherichia coli
Abstract : The recombinant product is secreted to the periplasm in many processes where E. coli is used as host. One drawback with secretion is the undesired leakage of the periplasmic products to the medium. The aim of this work was to find strategies to influence the periplasmic retention of recombinant products. READ MORE

2. Strain-assisted corrosion cracking and growth rate inhibitors
Abstract : A model for evolution of cracks as a result of strain-assisted corrosion is presented. The considered cracks possess a realistic geometry, where the tip region is an integral part of the crack surface instead of being a singular point. This geometry is either implicitly defined or is a consequence of crack nucleation from surface irregularities. READ MORE

3. The Effect of Various Dopants on Diamond Growth : A Combined Experimental & Theoretical Approach
Abstract : Diamond is a unique material with many exceptional properties. It has therefore been proven to be an important material for many applications. Moreover, the introduction of dopant species into the gas phase during the CVD growth process has been shown to strongly influence not only the properties and morphology of diamond, but also the growth rate. 4. A Parametric Approach to Yeast Growth Curve Estimation and Standardization
Abstract : The purpose of this thesis is to contribute to the understanding of yeast growth. It builds upon a dataset consisting of growth curves of 576 Saccharomyces cerevisiae mutants in eight different environments. The data will be a part of a publicly available phenotypic library, PROPHECY, containing growth curves and characteristics of viable S. READ MORE

5. Dynamics of omnivorous crayfish in freshwater ecosystems
Abstract : In this thesis I examine the dynamics of crayfish in streams and lakes. I have studied the influence of abiotic and biotic factors on abundance, growth, trophic position, niche breadth, and recruitment of crayfish, by conducting field studies, an outdoor channel experiment and timeseries analysis.
