2. Weld Cracking in Precipitation Hardening Ni-based Superalloys
Abstract : Manufacturing of hot structural components for aero engines requires the materials being used to be weldable. The high demands on strength and temperature resistance make nickel based superalloys the material of choice for this application. READ MORE

3. Weld Cracking of Precipitation Hardening Ni-based Superalloys - Investigation of repair welding characteristics and susceptibility towards strain age cracking
Abstract : High temperature resistance and strength requirements make nickel-based superalloys the material of choice for the hot section of aero engines. Fabrication in terms of combining wrought and cast parts in the manufacturing of hot structural components enables component optimisation via the use of wrought high-strength parts, where geometrical constraints allow, and cast parts to produce complex geometries. 4. Characterisation of terahertz integrated membrane circuits
Abstract : In this thesis a novel measurement setup and thru-reflect-line (TRL) calibration kit for vector network analyser (VNA) measurements at 220 GHz to 325 GHz (WR-03) is presented. Measurements on passive membrane circuit devices under test (DUTs) show improvement in the S-parameters compared to a waveguide integrated membrane circuit setup in previous work, especially in reducing the ripples and increasing repeatability of the measurements. 5. Manganese Combined Oxides as Oxygen Carriers for Chemical-Looping Combustion
Abstract : The global emissions of greenhouse gases are increasing and the development of mitigation measures is becoming more important. One of the alternatives proposed is carbon capture and storage, where the carbon dioxide emitted from large point sources is captured, compressed and stored in underground storage sites. READ MORE
