  4. 4. Risk of hearing loss from combined exposure to hand-arm vibrations and noise

    Author : Hans Pettersson; Lage Burström; Tohr Nilsson; Kerstin Persson Waye; Umeå universitet; []

    Abstract : Hearing loss from noise exposure is one of the most common occupational injuries, and exposure to vibrations may increase the risk of noise-induced hearing loss. Earlier cross-sectional and longitudinal studies found an increased risk of noise-induced hearing loss among workers with vibration-induced white fingers (VWF) symptoms compared to workers without such symptoms. 5. 5. Human Postures and Movements analysed through Constrained Optimization

    Author : Robert Pettersson; Anders Eriksson; Elena Gutierrez-Farewik; Hans Berg; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; multibody system; optimal control; trajectory optimization; long jump; posture; Other engineering mechanics; Övrig teknisk mekanik;

    Abstract : Constrained optimization is used to derive human postures and movements. In the first study a static 3D model with 30 muscle groups is used to analyse postures. The activation levels of these muscles are minimized in order to represent the individual's choice of posture. READ MORE
