  1. 1. Optimisation and Application of Intense High-Order Harmonic Pulses

    Author : Lena Roos; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Coherent radiation; Optimisation; Multiphoton ionisation; Phase matching; Physics; Fysik; Atomic and molecular physics; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Laserteknik; Laser technology; High-power lasers; Short pulses; High-order harmonic generation; Short wavelength; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Roos;

    Abstract : The high-order harmonics that are created in the interaction between an intense laser pulse (around 1014 W/cm2) and a gas medium are studied. The high-order harmonic radiation is a relatively new source of coherent radiation in the short wavelength range. READ MORE

  2. 2. Statistical Mechanical Studies of Titrating Polyelectrolytes

    Author : Magnus Ullner; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; integral equation theory; variational calculations; Monte Carlo simulations; end-to-end separation; apparent dissociation constant; titrating polyelectrolytes; electrostatic interactions; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : Different models and statistical mechanical approximations for titrating polyelectrolytes are studied and the results compared with Monte Carlo simulations and experimental data. Three types of models have been used in the simulations: i) rigid structures and freely jointed chains with ii) rigid bonds and iii) flexible, harmonic bonds. READ MORE

  3. 3. The Double Obstacle Problem on Metric Spaces

    Author : Zohra Farnana; Jan Björn; Anders Björn; Juha Kinnunen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; metric space; nonlinear; obstacle problem; p-harmonic; potential theory; regularity; stability; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK;

    Abstract : During the last decade, potential theory and p-harmonic functions have been developed in the setting of doubling metric measure spaces supporting a p-Poincar´e inequality. This theory unifies, and has applications in several areas of analysis, such as weighted Sobolev spaces, calculus on Riemannian manifolds and Carnot groups, subelliptic differential operators and potential theory on graphs. 4. 4. The Interactive Dynamics of Regulation : Exploring the Council of Europe's Monitoring of Ukraine

    Author : Anders Nordström; Jan Hallenberg; Karl Magnus Johansson; Martin Marcussen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Transnational regulation; Ukraine; Council of Europe; PACE; monitoring; transformation; responsive regulation; European governance; soft law; human rights; Europeanisation; democratisation; Political science; Statsvetenskap; Political Science; statsvetenskap;

    Abstract : In a time when a host of new and untested democracies seek membership in international organisations founded on liberal norms, the question of how to include new members without jeopardizing community values has become of growing concern, particularly as the regulation of practices in sovereign states often relies on soft moral or political commitment rather than on hard legal obligation. The Council of Europe’s (CoE) monitoring of new members after entry represents a soft method of socialising newcomers. READ MORE

  5. 5. Many-photon effects in time-resolved second harmonic generation from systems in optical cavities

    Author : Megha Gopalakrishna; Matematisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Second harmonic generation; Cavity optics; Non-linear optics; Cavity leakage; Ultracold atoms; Dicke model; Exact diagonalization; Non-equilibrium Green s functions; Fysicumarkivet A:2024:Gopalakrishna;

    Abstract : Second harmonic generation is popular due to its numerous applications in different technologies dealing with multiple fields of science. The rapid technical advancement with the second harmonic generation demands parallel development in the theoretical understanding. READ MORE
