16. Structural and evolutionary studies of a lipocalin: the alpha1-microglobulin protein and its gene
Abstract : a1-microglobulin is a small glycoprotein present in plasma and in tissues surrounding the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts. a1-microglobulin is a member of the lipocalin protein family and exhibits several of the typical traits of a lipocalin; it binds an unknown ligand which causes the brown color of the protein, it forms complexes with various different proteins and there have been indications of the presence of a receptor for a1-microglobulin on T-lymphocytes. 17. Lean NOx reduction over supported silver catalysts with methanol as reductant - Influence of silver loading, support material, hydrogen addition and C/N molar ratio
Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to find catalysts which show high activity and selectivity forlean NOx reduction in the low-temperature regime relevant for diesel and lean-burnengines and to investigate methanol as reducing agent. The lean NOx reduction oversupported silver catalysts is studied, focusing on the influence of the support material, silver loading, addition of hydrogen and the C/N molar ratio. READ MORE

18. Chronic pain : from the study of student attitudes and preferences to the in vitro investigation of a novel treatment strategy
Abstract : Chronic pain will affect one in five adults during their lifetime, and it exerts a heavy burden on society with major physiological, psychological, social, and economic impacts. The current chronic pain curriculum taught to medical students in most settings is fragmented, inconsistent and inadequate and a vast majority of general practitioners considered their undergraduate training in chronic pain incomplete. 19. Evaluation and variability of power grid hosting capacity for electric vehicles : Case studies of residential areas in Sweden
Abstract : Electric vehicles (EVs) are increasing in popularity and play an important role in decarbonizing the transport sector. However, a growing EV fleet can cause problems for power grids as the grids are not initially designed for EV charging. The potential of a power grid to accommodate EV loads can be assessed through hosting capacity (HC) analysis. READ MORE

20. Fuel Reforming for Hydrogen Production in Heavy-Duty Vehicle Applications
Abstract : The depletion of fossil fuels together with growing environmental concerns have created incitement for developing a more energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly vehicle fleet. The development towards cleaner heavy-duty vehicles started already in the 80’s with the introduction of emission legislations. READ MORE
