16. Gasoline Engine HCCI Combustion - Extending the high load limit
Abstract : There is an increasing global focus on reducing emissions of greenhouse gases. For the automotive industry this means reducing CO2 emissions of the vehiclesmanufactured, which is synonymous with reducing their fuel consumption oradapting them for using renewable fuels. READ MORE

17. Low Emission Concepts for Diesel Engines
Abstract : In the recent past, the Diesel engine has been improved considerably in the areas of performance, fuel efficiency and exhaust emissions. In Europe, these improvements have resulted in a strong increase in the sales of passenger cars equipped with a Diesel engine. READ MORE

18. Stochastic Reactor Models for Engine Simulations
Abstract : The aim of the thesis work is the further development of practical engine simulation tools based on Stochastic Reactor Models, SRMs. Novel and efficient implementations were made of a variety of SRMs adapted to different engine types. The models in question are the HCCI-SRM, the TwoZone SI-SRM and the DI-SRM. READ MORE

19. CFD Modelling of a Free-Piston Engine Using Detailed Chemistry
Abstract : The Free Piston Engine, FPE, which is capable of operating in a variable compression ratio mode, is highly suitable for the promising Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) concept, allowing flexible auto-ignition control on a cycle-to-cycle basis without any hardware modifications. In this study, the effects of varying the start of injection on the emission formation and efficiency of such an engine have been investigated, using simulations based on the KIVA-3V CFD code. 20. BlueBellMouse. A Tool for Kinetic Model Development
Abstract : The simulation of physical phenomena occurring in chemical reactors requires the description of the kinetics involved in the underlying combustion process. Kinetic models are developed for this purpose. READ MORE
