11. Layer formation on quartz particles during fluidized bed combustion/gasification of woody biomass
Abstract : The formation of sticky layers on bed particles has been considered as a prerequisite for bed agglomeration in fluidized bed combustion and gasification of woody fuels. In addition, the layer formed makes the bed particle less resistant against fragmentation. The fragments from quartz particles can result in deposition. READ MORE

12. Organization of centromere associated DNA in Chironomus pallidivittatus
Abstract : Centromeres have not yet been functionally defined in higher eu- karyotes, largely due to the huge amounts of repeated DNA in these regions of most species and difficulties of delimiting centromeric from pericentric regions. Also the latter have large quantities of mostly noncoding DNA, expressed cytologically as pericentric heterochromatin. READ MORE

13. Gasification-based Biorefinery for Mechanical Pulp Mills
Abstract : The modern concept of “biorefinery” is dominantly based on chemical pulp mills to create more value than cellulose pulp fibres, and energy from the dissolved lignins and hemicelluloses. This concept is characterized by the conversion of biomass into various bio-based products. READ MORE

14. High temperature performance of materials for future power plants
Abstract : Increasing energy demand leads to two crucial problems for the whole society. One is the economic cost and the other is the pollution of the environment, especially CO2 emissions. Despite efforts to adopt renewable energy sources, fossil fuels will continue to dominate. READ MORE

15. Lineage tracing of early organogenesis and liver mesenchymal cells with ultrasound-guided in utero nano-injection
Abstract : Current methods used to investigate embryo development and alter gene expression in mouse embryos are often time consuming and require large numbers of mice. To circumvent these limitations, we were aiming to develop a flexible and efficient method to investigate embryo development and manipulate gene expression in utero. READ MORE
