  1. 1. SOFC Modeling Considering Mass and Heat Transfer, Fluid Flow with Internal Reforming Reactions

    Author : Martin Andersson; Värmeöverföring; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; COMSOL Multiphysics; Modeling; Catalyst; CFD; Transport phenomena; Internal reforming reaction; IT-SOFC; LTNE;

    Abstract : Fuel cells are promising for future energy systems, since they are energy efficient and, when hydrogen is used as fuel, there are no emissions of greenhouse gases. Fuel cells have during recent years various improvements, however the technology is still in the early phases of development. READ MORE

  2. 2. Sustainable Aluminum and Iron Production

    Author : Reza Beheshti; Emma Strömberg; Jafar Safarian; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Sustainability; Optimization; Black Dross; Salt removal; Steel flux agent; Waste processing; Greenhouse gases; Direct reduction; COMSOL Multiphysics®; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Aluminium recycling requires 95% less energy than primary production with no loss of quality. The Black Dross (BD) produced during secondary aluminium production contains high amounts of water-soluble compounds, therefore it is considered as a toxic waste. READ MORE

  3. 3. Study on the dissolution of lime and dolomite in converter slag

    Author : Tengfei Deng; Sichen Du; Takeshi Yoshikawa; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; dissolution; lime; limestone; dolomite; converter slag;

    Abstract : In the present study, the dissolution mechanism and rate of lime, limestone and dolomite in converter slag was studied. Lime dissolution in stagnant slag was studied first and dissolution of lime, limestone and dolomite under forced convection were carried out by new experimental setup. READ MORE

  4. 4. Electrochemical machining: towards 3D simulation and application on SS316

    Author : A. A. Gomez-Gallegos; UK University of Edinburgh; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electrochemical machining; 3D Simulation; FEM; stainless Steel 316; surface Finish; Maskinteknik; Mechanical Engineering;

    Abstract : Electrochemical machining (ECM) is a non-conventional manufacturing process, which uses electrochemical dissolution to shape any conductive metal regardless of its mechanical properties and without leaving behind residual stresses or tool wear. Therefore, ECM can be an alternative for machining difficult-to-cut materials, complex geometries, and materials with improved characteristics, such as strength, heat-resistance or corrosion-resistance.
