16. Development, validation and application of an effective convectivity model for simulation of melt pool heat transfer in a light water reactor lower head
Abstract : Severe accidents in a Light Water Reactor (LWR) have been a subject of the research for the last three decades. The research in this area aims to further understanding of the inherent physical phenomena and reduce the uncertainties surrounding their quantification, with the ultimate goal of developing models that can be applied to safety analysis of nuclear reactors. 17. Modelling of Mass and Heat Transport in Paper - Evaluation of Mechanisms and Shrinkage
Abstract : In this work a one-dimensional model for the mass and heat transport in the thickness direction of paper has been developed. Solid-based coordinates were applied to simplify incorporation of shrinkage. Liquid diffusion, gas convection and vapour and air diffusion were incorporated as mass transport mechansims. READ MORE

19. Prediction of forced convection heat transfer to Lead-Bismuth-Eutectic
Abstract : The goal of this work is to investigate the capabilities of two different commercial codes, OpenFOAM and ANSYS CFX, to predict forced convection heat transfer in low Prandtl number fluids and investigate the sensitivity of these predictions to the type of code and to several input parameters. The goal of the work is accomplished by predicting forced convection heat transfer in two different experimental setups with the codes OpenFOAM and ANSYS CFX using three different turbulence models and varying the input parameters in an extensive sensitivity analysis. 20. Hydrodynamics and heat convection in channels with vibrating walls
Abstract : In this work a combined analytical and numerical study of the non-linear effects of transverse wall vibrations on fluid flows are presented. Streaming motions and their effect on heat and mass transfer are investigated for a viscous fluid confined in an infinite channel with flexible walls. READ MORE
