1. Heat and Mass Transfer to a Single Particle in Fluidized Bed
Abstract : Heat and mass transfer to/from a single active particle in bubbling and circulating fluidized beds have been studied with application to fluidized bed combustion. A method of calculation of the heat and mass transfer coefficients in a bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) has been developed. READ MORE

2. Experimental and Numerical Investigations of Heat Transfer related to Gas Turbine Applications
Abstract : Gas turbines are broadly used in aerospace and marine propulsion and power production etc.Investigation of heat transfer in gas turbines is a long-lasting and still an active subject ofresearch due to its tremendous importance. READ MORE

3. An Experimental and Theoretical Study of Decentralized Gas Fired Liquid Heating
Abstract : The effects on the energy situation in industry when gas fired liquid heaters replace steam have been determined by energy surveys performed in a brewery and a slaughterhouse, measurements of the performance and emissions from liquid heaters installed in these industries, and theoretical analyses of the potential energy saving. The theoretical study in the first part of the project provides information that allows assessment of the effects on the energy situation, of part or complete conversion to decentralized heating, under the conditions prevailing in the industries concerned. 4. Transport and mixing by finite-size particles in turbulent flows
Abstract : Suspensions of solid particles in a viscous fluid are ubiquitous in natural and engineering settings, including sediment transport in river beds, blood flow in the human body, oil products transport in pipelines and pulp fibers in papermaking. Multiphase flows consisting of finite-size particles is a challenging topic due to multi-way coupling and interactions between the phases. READ MORE

5. Desalination using Membrane Distillation : Experimental and Numerical Study
Abstract : Desalination has been increasingly adopted over the last decades as an option, and sometimes as a necessity to overcome water shortages in many areas around the world. Today, several thermal and physical separation technologies are well established in large scale production for domestic and industrial purposes. READ MORE
