  1. 1. Investigation of the structural response of pavements in cold region using instrumented test site data

    Author : Denis Saliko; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Pauli Kolisoja; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; flexible pavement; environmental impact; seasonal variation; heavy loading; non-destructive testing; instrumented section; Flexibla vägkonstruktioner; Omgivningspåverkan; Säsongvariation; Tung trafikbelastning; Oförstörande provning; Instrumenterade teststräckor; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Building Materials; Byggnadsmaterial;

    Abstract : The structural behaviour of pavement structures is known to be affected by the traffic-related loading and by the ambient factors to which the structure is subjected. A new mechanistic-empirical (M-E) pavement design method is under development in Sweden with the main purpose to adequately predict pavement structural response and performance. READ MORE

  2. 2. Validation of heavy vehicle loading responses and temperature predictions in flexible pavements using field data

    Author : Denis Saliko; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Abubeker Ahmed; Denis Jelagin; Inge Hoff; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flexible pavements; Long heavy vehicles; Instrumented test section; Field validation; Non-destructive testing; Temperature modelling; Flexibla vägkonstruktioner; Tung trafikbelastning; Instrumenterade teststräckor; Fältvalidering; Oförstörande provning; Termisk modellering; Building Materials; Byggnadsmaterial;

    Abstract : It is well established that both traffic-related loading and environmental conditions influence the structural behaviour of pavements. Pavement design methods aim to consider the effect of traffic loading and environmental variables on pavement structure, foresee their changes during the lifetime of the pavement and predict the resulting distresses and pavement life. 3. 3. Highly Dynamic Drives for Electric Hybrid Vehicles : Electric Machine Design and Dynamic Test Method

    Author : Yury Loayza Vargas; Industriell elektroteknik och automation; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electric Hybrid Vehicles; Electric Machine Design; Dynamic Testing; Dynamic loading; Synthetic Loading; FPGA; Torque Measurement; Field weakening controller FWC ; IPMSM; FEMM; LabVIEW; Dynamic Testing Technique; Dynamic Test Method; CompactRIO;

    Abstract : Electric Hybrid Vehicles (EHVs) play a crucial role in the development towardsa more environmental friendly transportation. An alternative to solve someactual challenges with hybridization of vehicles is studied at the Division ofIndustrial Electrical Engineering and Automation (IEA) at Lund Universityin cooperation with the automotive industry. 4. 4. Excess pore water pressure generation in fine granular materials under cyclic loading -A laboratory study

    Author : Tan Manh Do; Jan Laue; M. Kubilay Kelesoglu; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Excess pore water pressure; migration of particles; fine granular materials; cyclic loading; Soil Mechanics; Geoteknik;

    Abstract : Abstract Excess pore water pressure can be generated in subgrades of both railway and pavement sub-structures under cyclic loading caused by heavy traffic. When saturated subgrades are subjected to cyclic loading, excess pore water pressures accumulate over time which then could lead to migration of particles into overlying layers. READ MORE

  5. 5. Heavy Vehicle Crash Safety - Improved Thoracic Injury Prediction in Frontal Crash Testing

    Author : Kristian Holmqvist; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Finite Element modelling; Pendulum test; Injury assessment; Accidents; Chest injury; Hybrid III; Heavy goods vehicle; THUMS; Crash test;

    Abstract : Frontal crashes are regarded as some of the most injurious accidents for Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) drivers. One of the leading HGV manufacturers regularly conducts frontal crash testing for occupant safety. The Hybrid III crash test dummy was developed for frontal testing in passenger cars and has become the standard in crash laboratories. READ MORE
