  1. 11. Fast Microwave-Enhanced Intra-, Pseudo-intra- and Intermolecular Heck Reactions

    Author : Andreas Svennebring; Mats Larhed; Anja Sandström; Erik Van der Eycken; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Pharmaceutical chemistry; palladium; Heck reaction; chelation control; microwave; Farmaceutisk kemi;

    Abstract : The Heck reaction is one of the most appreciated methods for carbon-carbon bond formation. Due to its mildness and ability to be tuned by additives, it often leaves few alternative competitive reactions. It has also proven easy to develop the reaction conditions in an environmentally benign direction. READ MORE

  2. 12. Selectivity in Palladium- and Enzyme-Catalyzed Reactions : Focusing on Enhancement of Reactivity

    Author : Peter Nilsson; Anders Hallberg; Mats Larhed; Matthias Beller; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Palladium; Heck; PCR; Microwaves; Farmaceutisk kemi; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi;

    Abstract : Catalysis has a profound impact on all living species on the earth. Nature’s catalysts, the enzymes, have the ability to selectively promote a specific bio-chemical transformation, given the required substrate. READ MORE

  3. 13. New Methods for the Synthesis of 3-Substituted 1-Indanones : A Palladium-Catalyzed Approach

    Author : Anna Arefalk; Anders Hallberg; Mats Larhed; Juan Carlos Carretero; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Heck; palladium; indanone; annulation; microwave heating; triflate; sulfinyl imine; HIV-1 protease inhibitor; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : In medicinal chemistry, there is a constant need for new preparative methods, both to make the synthesis process more effective, and to increase the accessibility to a wide variety of compounds. A number of different approaches can be used to attain these goals. READ MORE

  4. 14. Metallacyclic Phosphine Complexes and Intramolecular Csp3-H Bond Activation -Synthesis, Characterisation and Catalytic Application

    Author : Sven Sjövall; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; catalysis; Heck; diphosphite; diphosphine; phosphine; cyclometallation; C-C activation; C-O activation; C-H activation; palladium; rhodium; iridium; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis deals with metallacyclic late transition metal complexes, obtained by intramolecular Csp3-H activation, and the application of such compounds in catalysis. The new hemilabile P,O phosphines N-methyl-N-propionyl-2-(diphenylphosphino)benzylamine (DPPAM), o-(diphenylphosphino)benzoic acid ethyl ester (DPPES), o-(diphenylphosphino)benzoic acid methyl ether (DPPET) and ±-1-(2- diphenylphosphino)phenylethyl propionate (±-DPPMES) and the symmetrical diphosphorus donor ligands cis-1,3-bis[(diphenylphosphino)methyl]-cyclohexane (DPCY), cis-1,3-bis[(di-tertbutylphosphino)methyl]cyclohexane (DTBCY) and cis-1,3-bis[(di-isopropylphosphino)methyl]cyclohexane (DIPCY) have been synthesised, allowing the preparation of a range of new metallacyclic rhodium(III), iridium(III) and palladium(II) complexes. 5. 15. Synthesis and Evaluation of N,P-Chelating Ligands in Asymmetric Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Reactions : Ir-Catalyzed Asymmetric Hydrogenation and Pd-Catalyzed Asymmetric Intermolecular Heck Reaction

    Author : Päivi Tolstoy; Pher G. Andersson; Göran Hilmersson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Asymmetric hydrogenation; Heck reaction; N; P ligand; Iridium; Palladium; Asymmetric catalysis; Alkenes; Fluorine; Diarylmethine stereocenters; Chemistry; Kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis describes synthesis of new chiral N,P ligands and their evaluation in two types of asymmetric transition-metal catalyzed reactions. The first part of the thesis describes studies in iridium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation. READ MORE
