  1. 1. Engineering Antibody Specificity Using Combinatorial Antibody Libraries

    Author : Jenny Boström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; antibody Antigen Interactions; Dual Specific Antibodies; Herceptin; Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2; Thermodynamic Analysis; therapeutic Antibody Engineering; Synthetic Phagedisplayed Antibody Libraries; Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor; Bacterial Display; trastuzumab;

    Abstract : The research presented in this thesis investigates antibody specificity, antibody-antigen and protein-protein interactions using combinatorial antibody libraries, phage-display and bacterial display technology. One goal was to develop a method to generate antibodies that bind two protein antigens with high affinity using a single-antigen binding site, and to investigate the molecular and thermodynamic requirements for antibody multispecificity. 2. 2. Molecular Cytogenetics in Sporadic Breast Cancer

    Author : Karin Rennstam; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; onkologi; oncology; Cytology; Cytologi; cancer; gene expression; gene amplification; tumor development; cDNA microarray; fluorescence in situ hybridization FISH ; breast cancer; comparative genomic hybridization CGH ; cancerology; ERBB2;

    Abstract : In recent time breast cancer has become the most common form of female cancer in the western world. It has been estimated that the lifetime risk of women falling ill from the disease is 10%. The number of patients diagnosed each year has been increasing steadily since the 1970s. READ MORE

  3. 3. EGFR- and HER2-Binding Affibody Molecules : Cellular studies of monomeric, dimeric and bispecific ligands

    Author : Lina Ekerljung; Lars Gedda; Johan Lennartsson; Jörgen Carlsson; Birgitta Sundström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : EGFR; HER2; Affibody molecule; cell signaling; receptor dimerization; Biomedical Radiation Science; Biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap;

    Abstract : Abnormal expression and signaling of the ErbB receptors is associated with the development and progression of several forms of cancer. In this thesis, new ErbB-targeting affibody molecules are evaluated regarding their cellular effects in vitro. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development of Computational Methods for Cancer Research: Strategies for closing the feedback loop in omics workflows

    Author : Ufuk Kirik; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []

    Abstract : As the ultimate workhorses of the living things, proteins undergo significant regulatory activity throughout the lifetime of a cell or an organism. Many complex diseases effect the protein composition, expression or modification in the cells or tissues they arise in. READ MORE

  5. 5. Functionally-associated target antigens in cancer. Defined by human antibodies and small interfering RNAs

    Author : Johan Fransson; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; phage display; Antibody; cancer; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi; serology; Immunology; onkologi; Cytologi; cancerology; oncology; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi; metabolism; Biotechnology; Bioteknik; Cytology;

    Abstract : Cancer is the collective name for diseases that have one thing in common ? uncontrolled cell growth. The increase in cancer cell proliferation eventually results in tumor formation and, in the worst case, metastatic spread to other organs. Common treatment modalities of cancer include chemotherapy and radiation therapy. READ MORE
