  1. 1. Order in the random forest

    Author : Isak Karlsson; Henrik Boström; Lars Asker; Pierre Geurts; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Machine learning; random forest; ensemble; time series; data series; sequential data; sparse data; high-dimensional data; Computer and Systems Sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : In many domains, repeated measurements are systematically collected to obtain the characteristics of objects or situations that evolve over time or other logical orderings. Although the classification of such data series shares many similarities with traditional multidimensional classification, inducing accurate machine learning models using traditional algorithms are typically infeasible since the order of the values must be considered. 2. 2. Nearest Neighbor Classification in High Dimensions

    Author : Sampath Deegalla; Henrik Boström; Slawomir Nowaczyk; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nearest Neighbor; High-Dimensional Data; Curse of Dimensionality; Dimensionality Reduction; data- och systemvetenskap; Computer and Systems Sciences;

    Abstract : The simple k nearest neighbor (kNN) method can be used to learn from high dimensional data such as images and microarrays without any modification to the original version of the algorithm. However, studies show that kNN's accuracy is often poor in high dimensions due to the curse of dimensionality; a large number of instances are required to maintain a given level of accuracy in high dimensions. 3. 3. Data-driven microscopy: placing high-fidelity data in a population-wide context

    Author : Oscar André; Infektionsmedicin; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Data-driven microscopy; Event-driven microscopy; high-content screening; automation; image analysis; data analysis; cell heterogeneity; host-pathogen interactions; Streptococcus pyogenes GAS ; SARS-CoV-2;

    Abstract : Mikroskopi är idag ett fundamentalt verktyg inom forskning, där det tillåter oss att skåda in och utforska våra prover i hög detalj. Mycket utav utvecklingen av nya mikroskopimetoder har strävat efter att öka den detaljnivå vi kan uppnå. READ MORE

  4. 4. Secure and Privacy-aware Data Collection and Processing in Mobile Health Systems

    Abstract : Healthcare systems have assimilated information and communication technologies in order to improve the quality of healthcare and patient's experience at reduced costs. The increasing digitalization of people's health information raises however new threats regarding information security and privacy. READ MORE

  5. 5. A path along deep learning for medical image analysis : With focus on burn wounds and brain tumors

    Author : Marco Domenico Cirillo; Anders Eklund; Veronika Cheplygina; Linköpings universitet; []
