6. Effects of Corona and Ozone Exposure on Properties of Polymeric Materials for High Voltage Outdoor Applications
Abstract : Despite the past four decades of service experiences with polymeric insulators in power systems all over the world, an adequate standard allowing for proper selection of polymeric materials for applications in high voltage outdoor environments has still been lacking. Therefore CIGRE Working Group D1. READ MORE

7. Voltage Stabilizers: From Design to Synthesis, Processing and Electrical Characterization
Abstract : Voltage stabilizers are additives capable of inhibiting electrical treeing; a degradation mechanism for insulation materials subjected to strong divergent electric fields. The intended use is in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) high voltage power cable insulation where minute defects in the manufacturing process can give rise to the conditions needed for the initiation of treeing, which in the worst case scenario leads to failure of the insulation system with blackouts and expensive repairs as a consequence. 8. Cellulose-based electrical insulation materials : Dielectric and mechanical properties
Abstract : The reliability of the generation and distribution of electricity is highly dependent on electrical insulation and is essential for the prosperity of our society and a ubiquitous part of our everyday life. The present study shows how some important material properties affect the electrical properties of cellulose-based electrical insulation systems which are used together with mineral oil in high-voltage transformers. 9. Polyethylene/metal oxide nanocomposites for electrical insulation in future HVDC-cables : probing properties from nano to macro
Abstract : Nanocomposites of polyethylene and metal oxide nanoparticles have shown to be a feasible approachto the next generation of insulation in high voltage direct current cables. In order to reach an operationvoltage of 1 MV new insulation materials with reduced conductivity and increased breakdown strengthas compared to modern low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is needed. 10. Charge transport in polymer-based insulating materials for high voltage applications: effect of single- and multi-layered structures
Abstract : Polymer composites have been widely employed as electrical insulating materials for high voltage components and devices such as power cables, gas-insulated systems, rotating machines, line and post insulators, etc. Such materials are usually made by introducing inorganic oxides (SiO2, TiO2, Al2O3, MgO) into polymeric matrices e.g. READ MORE
