16. High-Temperature Corrosion Chemistry in Oxy-Fuel Combustion
Abstract : Drastic cuts in global CO2 emissions are needed to mitigate the global warming if limiting global warming to 2ºC. The power generation sector is largely based on fossil fuels and produces a significant share of the global CO2 emissions. READ MORE

17. Corrosion of Ferritic Stainless Steel Interconnects for Solid Oxide Cells – Challenging Operating Conditions
Abstract : Solid oxide cells (SOC) have the potential to revolutionize electricity production by being able to both produce electricity with very high efficiency from a variety of fuels or to produce fuels from electricity and abundant raw materials such as water or carbon dioxide. Some material challenges remain to be solved before large-scale commercialization can be achieved. READ MORE

18. Furnace Wall Corrosion in a Wood-fired Boiler
Abstract : The use of renewable wood-based fuel has been increasing in the last few decades because it is said to be carbon neutral. However, wood-based fuel, and especially used wood (also known as recycled wood or waste wood), is more corrosive than virgin wood (forest fuel), because of higher amounts of chlorine and heavy metals. 19. Oxidation and corrosion fatigue aspects of cast exhaust manifolds
Abstract : Emission regulations for heavy-duty diesel engines are becoming increasingly restrictive to limit the environmental impacts of exhaust gases and particles. Increasing the specific power output of diesel engines would improve fuel efficiency and greatly reduce emissions, but these changes could lead to increased exhaust gas temperature, increasing demands on the exhaust manifold material. 20. High Temperature Corrosion of Some Stainless Steels
Abstract : The high temperature corrosion of the alloy Sanicro 28 (35Fe27Cr31Ni) is addressed in this thesis. The influence of water vapour and two potassium-containing salts was investigated. In addition, three other alloys were studied. Polished steel coupons were isothermally exposed in tube furnaces at 600–800°C in 5% O2 and in 5% O2 + 40% H2O. READ MORE
