  1. 21. On the interactions of ions and odor molecules with nanomaterials in water and synthetic urine

    Author : Isabelle Simonsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nanomaterials; Surface chemistry; Ion specific effects; MOF synthesis; Odor control; Adsorption; Synthetic urine;

    Abstract : Towards the quest of finding materials to be used as adsorbents in real systems, it is crucial to understand the underlying adsorption processesfully. In many applications, adsorption occurs in biological fluids containing a vast range of ions, organic molecules, and biomolecules. READ MORE

  2. 22. Dissociative recombination of organic molecular ions of relevance for interstellar clouds and Titan's upper atmosphere

    Author : Erik Vigren; Wolf D. Geppert; Ian Sims; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dissociative recombination; Astrochemistry; Physics; Fysik; kemisk fysik; Chemical Physics;

    Abstract : This thesis presents experimental studies on the dissociative recombination (DR) of the organic molecular ions CD3CND+, CH2CHCNH+, CH3CH2CNH+, CD3CDO+, CH3CHO+ and DCOOD2+. The experiments were all performed at the heavy ion storage ring CRYRING at the Manne Siegbahn Laboratory in Stockholm, Sweden. READ MORE

  3. 23. Feasibility study of resonant antiproton capture by ions and an open system approach to resonance decay

    Author : Michael Genkin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Atomic physics; Atomfysik;

    Abstract : The present thesis is based on two different projects. The first part deals withresonant capture of antiprotons by electron excitation in highly charged hydrogenlike ions. READ MORE

  4. 24. Collisional effects on electrostatic shock waves and heating in laser-generated plasmas

    Author : Andréas Sundström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; plasma physics; inverse Bremsstrahlung; warm dense matter; binary collisions; electrostatic shocks; laser-plasmas;

    Abstract : Electrostatic shock waves are associated with an electrostatic field structure propagating at supersonic speed through laboratory or astrophysical plasmas. Shock ion acceleration schemes, based on the strong electrostatic field in the shock structure, show promising potential due to the narrow energy spread of accelerated ions – which can be applied in plasma diagnostics, the generation of warm dense matter or medical purposes. 5. 25. Studies of ionised atoms with collision-based spectroscopy and laser spectroscopy

    Author : Mingqi Wang; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik; Physics; Fysik; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Atomic structure and collision properties of ionised atoms have been studied usingcollision-based spectroscopy and fast ion beam-laser spectroscopy.Collision induced photon emission spectra of Xe VI, Xe VII and Xe VIII andthe potassium like metal ions Mn VII, Fe VIII and Co IX have been recorded with a beam of multiply charged ions from an ECR (electron cyclotron resonance) ion source passing through an atomic target.
