  1. 1. Treatment of malignant tumors with histamine. Clinical and experimental studies

    Author : Magnus Rizell; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : histamine; histamine H2-receptors; microdialysis; pharmacokinetics; ; neoplasm; sarcoma; melanoma; immunotherapy;

    Abstract : For metastatic melanoma there is no treatment to prolong life. Histamine has in experimental tumors shown tumor inhibiting effects. In vitro, histamine inhibit phagocyte-derived radical oxygen species to protect natural killer and cytotoxic T-lymphocytes. READ MORE

  2. 2. Histamine and chromogranin A-derived peptides in rat stomach ECL cells

    Author : Per Norlén; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pharmacy; pharmacognosy; Pharmacological sciences; CGRP adrenaline; galanin; VIP; PACAP; somatostatin; gastrin; microdialys; pancreastatin; chromogranin A; histamine; ECL cell; rat stomach; toxicology; Farmakologi; farmakognosi; farmaci; toxikologi; Endocrinology; secreting systems; diabetology; Endokrinologi; sekretion; diabetologi;

    Abstract : The ECL cells constitute the predominant endocrine cell population of the stomach. They secrete histamine which is a major stimulator of acid secretion. Chormogranin A (CgA)-derived peptides, such as pancreastatin, are co-secreted with histamine. READ MORE

  3. 3. Physiological and pathophysiological regulation of ECL-cell activity

    Author : Maria Lundgren; immunologi och glykobiologi - MIG Avdelningen för mikrobiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pharmacy; toxicology; Pharmacological sciences; pharmacognosy; Gastroenterologi; endothelin; gastrin; ischemia-reperfusion; Physiology; Fysiologi; Gastro-enterology; pancreastatin; histamine; microdialysis; ECL-cell; stomach; Farmakologi; farmakognosi; farmaci; toxikologi;

    Abstract : The ECL cells are endocrine/paracrine cells located in the acid-producing part of the stomach. They produce and secrete histamine and chromogranin A-derived peptides in response to circulating gastrin. Mobilized histamine stimulates acid secretion from adjascent parietal cells. READ MORE

  4. 4. Secretory activity in isolated rat stomach ECL cells

    Author : Erik Lindström; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Endocrinology; Calcium channels; Adrenaline; Pancreastatin; Prostaglandin E2; Galanin; Somatostatin; Histamine; Gastrin; VIP; PACAP; secreting systems; diabetology; Endokrinologi; sekretion; diabetologi; Pharmacological sciences; pharmacognosy; pharmacy; toxicology; Farmakologi; farmakognosi; farmaci; toxikologi;

    Abstract : ECL cells are endocrine/paracrine cells located in the acid-producing part of the stomach. They are important regulators of gastric acid secretion in the stomach by virtue of their histamine synthesizing and secreting capacity. Histamine in turn stimulates parietal cells to secrete acid. 5. 5. Reactive oxygen species as signalling molecules in immunity

    Author : Åsa Betten; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; reactive oxygen species; NK cells; phagocytes; serotonin; histamine; myeloperoxidase;

    Abstract : Cytotoxic lymphocytes such as natural killer (NK) cells and subsets of T cells are key components of the host defense against malignancy and infection. Earlier studies have demonstrated that NK cells and several phenotypes of T cells become dysfunctional and apoptotic after exposure to autologous monocyte/macrophages and other phagocytes. READ MORE
