    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Thermoluminescent Dosimetry; Optically stimulated luminescence OSL ; Computed tomography CT ; 4DCT; Phantoms; Imaging; X-rays; pre-clinical models; Pre-clinical; dosimetry: physical basis; biomedical strain; lung injury; mechanical ventilation; inflammation; lung function; synchrotron; histology; acute respiratory distress syndrome ARDS ; Ventilator Inudced Lung Injury VILI ; Histology; Forced Oscillation Technique FOT ; Divergence Theorem; Registration techniques;

    Abstract : Lung diseases continue to present a large burden to public health, especially in industrialized countries. For abetter understanding of the underlying patho-mechanisms in lung related diseases as well as for testing theefficacy of novel therapies, preclinical studies in animal models are indispensable. 3. 3. Atrial Conduction and P-wave Characteristics: From histology to electrophysiology

    Author : Yan Huo; Kardiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Atrial fibrillation; Sinus rhythm; Histology; Electrophysiology; Human; P-wave Morphology; Variability of P-wave morphology; P-wave duration;

    Abstract : P-wave morphology reflects the projection of the depolarization vector on the electrocardiogram (ECG)lead axes in three-dimentional space and reflects both right and left atrial activation. The main purpose of current thesis was to explore the internal logic between the atrial conduction properties, including intra- and inter- atrial conduction, and P-wave characteristics from the level of histology to electrophysiology. 4. 4. Development and three-dimensional histology of vertebrate dermal fin spines

    Author : Anna Jerve; Per Erik Ahlberg; Martin Brazeau; Tatjana Haitina; Philippe Janvier; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fin spine; paleontology; early vertebrate; histology; development; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Organismal Biology; Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär organismbiologi;

    Abstract : Jawed vertebrates (gnathostomes) consist of two clades with living representatives, the chondricthyans (cartilaginous fish including sharks, rays, and chimaeras) and the osteichthyans (bony fish and tetrapods), and two fossil groups, the "placoderms" and "acanthodians". These extinct forms were thought to be monophyletic, but are now considered to be paraphyletic partly due to the discovery of early chondrichthyans and osteichthyans with characters that had been previously used to define them. 5. 5. Prognostic Factors in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)

    Author : Georg Holgersson; Stefan Bergström; Michael Bergqvist; Simon Ekman; Fredrik Pontén; Henrik Riska; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NSCLC; prognostic factors; survival; histology; anemia; leukocytosis; thrombocytosis; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Abstract : Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the cancer disease with the highest mortality globally. About 75% of NSCLC patients are diagnosed in an advanced stage where surgical treatment is not possible. For patients with locally advanced disease without distant metastases, the treatment of choice is curatively intended radiotherapy. READ MORE
