11. Experimental Studies on CO2 Absorption in Hollow Fiber Membrane Contactor
Abstract : Membrane gas absorption technology is considered as one of the promising alternatives to conventional techniques for CO2 separation from the flue gas of fossil fuels combustion. As a hybrid approach of chemical absorption and membrane separation, it may offer a number of important features, including operational flexibility, compact structure, linear scale up and predictable performance. 12. Development of Techniques to Produce Nickel Coated Composite Materials as well as Hollow Nickel Fibres and Kinetic Study of the Process Involved
Abstract : The present thesis was mainly to study the preparation of nickel composite materials by chemical plating process. Nickel coated boron nitride particles, nickel coated spherical silica particles and nickel viscose composite fibres were prepared. Both experiment and model development were carried out to study the kinetics of the processes. READ MORE

15. Sorption and transformation of polar pharmaceuticals during wastewater treatment studied by hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction
Abstract : This thesis addresses the application of hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction as a simple, efficient and environmentally friendly tool to study the fate of four common anti-inflammatory drugs (ketoprofen, naproxen, diclofenac and ibuprofen) during wastewater treatment. Initial experiments verified that this technique is applicable on aqueous as well as suspensions of solid samples, thus greatly simplifying the sample preparation. READ MORE
