1. Measurements and Modelling of Convective Vaporization for Refrigerants in a Horizontal Tube
Abstract : An evaporator facility has been constructed to measure local values of heat transfer and pressure drop. The evaporator resembles a normal working evaporator tube in a direct-expansion evaporator applicable to large heat pump/refrigeration cycles, typically over 500 kW. The evaporator is brine-heated and uses an expansion valve to control the inlet. READ MORE

2. Coupled vibrations in horizontal and vertical rotor-bearings systems
Abstract : For dynamical systems having several degrees of freedom, motion in one direction can induce motion in the other and/or vice versa. This means that there is a certain coupling between these two motions. Coupling can in some cases be a source of instability that causes self-excited vibrations in rotating machinery. READ MORE

3. Modeling the Zeeman Effect in Planetary Radiative Transfer and Applications
Abstract : Remote sensing is about retrieving distant physical properties from locally observed radiation. The first step to remote sensing is to describe, or model, the radiative transfer. READ MORE

4. Social capital, trust in institutions, discrimination and self-rated health. An epidemiological study in southern Sweden
Abstract : The rational for studying health consequences of social determinants is to enable understanding of factors that affect population patterns of health, disease and well-being in order to produce knowledge useful for guiding policies and actions to reduce social inequalities in health and promote social well-being. The aims of this study have been to investigate the association between aspects of social capital, discrimination and health. READ MORE

5. The Extremes of Neutrino Astronomy : From Fermi Bubbles with IceCube to Ice Studies with ARIANNA
Abstract : The Fermi bubbles are extended regions of hard gamma-ray emission which were discovered with Fermi-LAT data to exist above and below the Galactic Center. In order to explain the origin of the gamma-rays, different theories are proposed. READ MORE
