1. The Extremes of Neutrino Astronomy : From Fermi Bubbles with IceCube to Ice Studies with ARIANNA
Abstract : The Fermi bubbles are extended regions of hard gamma-ray emission which were discovered with Fermi-LAT data to exist above and below the Galactic Center. In order to explain the origin of the gamma-rays, different theories are proposed. READ MORE

2. Wave propagation in rock and the influence of discontinuities
Abstract : This thesis concerns wave propagation in rock as a tool for determination of rockproperties and as a consequence of activities, such as trains.Using waves as a tool often means that rock properties are determined or the interior of a sample is studied without being damaged. READ MORE

3. Description and Analysis of Data and Errors in GPS Meteorology
Abstract : This report presents the relation between remote sensing techniques used for estimation of atmospheric water vapor content, and numerical weather prediction. The thesis makes an overview of the methods for estimation of the zenith wet/total delay (ZWD/ZTD) for radio waves in the neutral atmosphere, and a statistical description of data in relation to the sampling problem for atmospheric water vapor. 4. Sensing Atmospheric Water Vapor Using Radio Waves: Studies of the 2, 3 and 4-D Structure of the Atmospheric Water Vapor Using Ground-based Radio Techniques Comprising the Global Positioning System, Microwave Radiometry and Very Long Baseline Interferometry
Abstract : The radio wave propagation time, the primary observable in the geodetic techniques Global Positioning System (GPS) and Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) is affected by the presence of the atmospheric gases. By using appropriate modeling in the post-processing of the recorded phase measurements, together with local meteorological information, it is possible to estimate the total amount of atmospheric water vapor. 5. Analysis and Design of Base Station Antennas for Mobile Communications
Abstract : The thesis deals with base station antennas and the environment they work in. Polarization diversity, dual band operation, and adaptive antenna systems are discussed with emphasis on how antennas for these applications should be designed. We compare the polarization diversity performance of different types of dual polarized antenna elements. READ MORE
