  2. 2. Self-Lubricating Laser Claddings in the Context of Hot Metal Forming

    Author : Hector Torres; Braham Prakash; Manuel Rodriquez Ripoll; Paul Mayrhofer; Tomasz Liskiewicz; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Tribology; High Temperature; Laser Claddings; Self-Lubricating; Hot Stamping; Machine Elements; Maskinelement;

    Abstract : Laser cladding is a coating technique with significant advantages like the high quality of the resulting layers, their excellent metallurgical bonding to the substrate or the possibility to repair/rework high-value mechanical components. In recent years, the incorporation of solid lubricants to the base powder in order to produce self-lubricating claddings has been shown in the literature to be possible, with several of the described coatings being able to operate at high temperatures with low friction and wear. 3. 3. Mechanical Behaviour of Adhesive Joints in Cartonboard for Packaging

    Author : Christer Korin; Magnus Lestelius; Nils Hallbäck; Christophe Barbier; Christer Fellers; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hot melt Adhesives; Carton board; Y-peel; Peel strength; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : A cartonboard package is often sealed and closed with an adhesive – either a hot-melt adhesive (adhesives that are applied in a molten state on the cartonboard) or a dispersion adhesive (adhesives that are applied as water-based dispersions). This thesis focuses on the process of hot-melt gluing, and how material properties and process conditions affect the performance of the adhesive joint. READ MORE

  4. 4. Integrated Product and Process Design for Mass Customization: A Road Towards Patient Access to Individualized Pharmaceutical Therapy

    Author : Rydvikha Govender; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hot melt extrusion; mass customization; modularization; integration; fused deposition modelling; individualized therapy; pharmaceutical manufacturing; reconfiguration; polymeric solid dispersion; patient-centric product design;

    Abstract : Individualized pharmaceutical therapy strives to attain optimal health outcomes a priori in all patients treated with pharmaceutical products by tailoring these products to each patient’s holistic needs. However, existing mass-produced pharmaceutical products are not available in sufficient variety to enable adequate tailoring to the diverse needs of individuals. READ MORE

  5. 5. Infrared Photodetectors based on InSb and InAs Nanostructures via Heterogeneous Integration-Rapid Melt Growth and Template Assisted Selective Epitaxy

    Author : Heera Menon; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []

    Abstract : Monolithic heterogeneous integration of III-V semiconductors with the contemporary Si Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) technology has instigated a wide range of possibilities and functionalities in the semiconductor industry, in the field of digital circuits, optical sensors, light emitters, and high-frequency communication devices. However, the integration of III-V semiconductors is not trivial due to the differences in lattice parameters, polarity, and thermal expansion coefficient. READ MORE
