  1. 1. Region-Specific Consumption-Based Environmental Impact: Hotspot Identification Using Hybrid MFA-LCA

    Author : Alexandra Lavers Westin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sustainable consumption; environmental impact; hotspot analysis; industrial ecology; Sustainable Development Goals; urban metabolism;

    Abstract : The environmental impacts caused by rising consumption are pressing problems for society today. Decision makers are tasked with setting and meeting environmental targets to ensure that future generations have access to the same quality of resources (like clean water and air) that we have today. 2. 2. Cost Effective Interference Management in Ultra-dense Hotspot Mobile Broadband Systems

    Author : Du Ho Kang; Jens Zander; Jaap van de Beek; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Rapid mobile data traffic growth is becoming in a reality and several forecasts expect that it will be continued in upcoming years. It is expected that significant indoor investment will be made not only by traditional operators but also by facility owners for their own purposes. READ MORE

  3. 3. Environmental Considerations in the Zero-waste Valorisation of Bauxite Residue : A Life Cycle Perspective

    Author : Peter James Joyce; Anna Björklund; Hellweg Stefanie; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Life Cycle Assessment LCA ; bauxite residue; waste valorisation; Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials NORM ; Life Cycle Thinking; LCA software; Circular Economy; Livscykelanalys LCA ; bauxitrest; avfallsvalorisering; naturligt förekommande radioaktiva ämnen NORM ; livscykeltänkande; LCA-programvara; cirkulär ekonomi; Planering och beslutsanalys; Planning and Decision Analysis;

    Abstract : Bauxite residue, also known as red mud, is produced in large quantities as a result of alumina refining (the first stage in aluminium production), and is one of the world’s most abundant and important industrial wastes. As demand for aluminium continues to increase and space to store this residue diminishes, the potential to utilise bauxite residue as a secondary resource is increasingly being considered by the alumina industry. 5. 5. Lifetime modeling and management of transformers

    Author : Johanna Rosenlind; Rajeev Thottappillill; Zhong Dong Wang; KTH; []
    Keywords : transformers; lifetime modeling; asset management; thermal modeling; lifetime estimation;

    Abstract : This work have studied and developed lifetime estimation methods for the power transformer and how these could be used for asset management purposes. It is researchperformed in the intersection of the fields of reliability theory, statistical analysis, and stochastic process theory applied to lifetime estimations and management of transformers.
