5. Sorting and Import of Plant Mitochondrial Precursor Proteins
Abstract : The mitochondrial genome encodes only a handful of the mitochondrial proteins; hundreds of mitochondrial proteins are encoded in the nucleus, synthesised on cytosolic polyribosomes and subsequently imported into the organelle.
