  1. 1. A Study of Eosinophils – From the Human Thymus to Eosinophilic Esophagitis

    Author : Sofie Albinsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Eosinophil; Eosinophilic esophagitis; Galectin-10; Human; Patient-reported outcome; T cell; Thymocyte; Thymus;

    Abstract : Eosinophils are cells of the innate immune system. They primarily reside within tissues and are most numerous in the gastrointestinal tract but are absent from the healthy esophagus. During the inflammatory disease eosinophilic esophagitis, eosinophils infiltrate the esophagus but their function is unknown. READ MORE

  2. 2. CarcinoEmbryonic Antigen-related Cell Adhesion Molecule 8 (CEACAM8) : Purification, Characterization, Cellular and Clinical Studies

    Author : Linshu Zhao; Per Venge; Claes Dahlgren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; human neutrophil; human eosinophil; granule proteins; CEA; CEACAM8; G-CSF; ELISA; subcellular fractionation; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Abstract : A 95-kDa protein was purified from normal human granulocytes. The protein reacted with a monoclonal antibody against CEACAM8. MALDI-Tof and MS/MS analyses revealed the protein to be a CGM6 gene product. Thus, the protein was proved to be identical to CEACAM8. READ MORE

  3. 3. Regulation of human eosinophil transmigration across lung epithelium

    Author : Lixin Liu; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Medical sciences; Eosinophils; regulation; migration; epithelial cells; lung; calcium; CD11b CD18; neutrophils; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Clinical Chemistry; klinisk kemi;

    Abstract : Eosinophil infiltration into the lung tissues and airways is a hallmark of allergic asthma. To reach the lung lumen, eosinophils migrate across the vascular endothelium, through the interstitial matrix and across lung epithelium. READ MORE

    Author : Lena Svensson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : Human eosinophils; danger signals; WKYMVm; bacteria; allergen; chemotaxis; CR3; free oxygen radicals; degranulation; formyl peptide receptor;

    Abstract : Eosinophilic granulocytes are leukocytes that reside in the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts. Their function in health is unknown. READ MORE

  5. 5. NO Effect on Inflammatory Reaction in Extracorporeal Circulation : Ex vivo Studies

    Author : Mika Lahtinen; Jan Borowiec; Per Venge; Vibeke Videm; Uppsala universitet; []
