6. Human T-lymphocyte activation : interactions between lymphocytes and mitogenic or non-mitogenic lectins
Abstract : The aim of this investigation was to gain further insights in the mechanisms of T-lymphocyte activation by lectins. Interactions between the lectins and purified lymphocytes from human peripheral blood, were studied in the following respects: in vitro culture requirements for lectin induced DNA-synthesis, intercellular regulations of the mitogen response and binding of lectins to lymphocyte surface components. 8. Exploitation of interactions with the neonatal Fc receptor to manipulate biological half-lives for therapeutic applications
Abstract : Protein engineering provides powerful tools to create useful proteins with desired properties. In this thesis, rational design principles have been used for development of fusion proteins that can interact with the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) for potential medical applications. FcRn is widely expressed in the human body. READ MORE

9. Protein adducts of hexahydrophthalic anhydride- chemical structures and biomarkers
Abstract : Organic acid anhydrides (OAAs) are low molecular weight chemicals used in the industry for manufacturing of plastics such as epoxy resins. Exposure to these chemicals may lead to symptoms from the eyes and the respiratory tract in form of conjunctivitis, rhinitis and asthma. READ MORE
