  1. 1. Developing Humidified Gas Turbine Cycles

    Author : Michael Bartlett; KTH; []
    Keywords : advanced gas turbine cycles; evaporative; humidified; power; heat and power;

    Abstract : As a result of their unique heat recovery properties,Humidified Gas Turbine (HGT) cycles have the potential todeliver resource-effective energy to society. The EvaporativeGas Turbine (EvGT) Consortium in Sweden has been studying thesetypes of cycles for nearly a decade, but now stands at acrossroads, with commercial demonstration remaining. READ MORE

  2. 2. Investigation of Emission Characteristics for Diluted Flames and Renewable Fuels in Gas Turbine Combustors

    Author : Fredrik Hermann; Kraftverksteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; framdrivningssystem; Motorer; termodynamik; Motors and propulsion systems; Termisk teknik; applied thermodynamics; Thermal engineering; combustor rig experiments; combustor reactor models; synthetic fuel; liquid fuel; gaseous fuel; UHC; CO; NOx; emission measurements; CO2 enriched; humidified combustion; diluted combustion; premixed combustion; Gas turbine; combustion chamber; Energiforskning; Energy research;

    Abstract : Gas turbines have served as economically profitable and reliable generators of power for the past few decades, and have mainly been used in simple and combined cycles. The increased restrictions on hazardous emissions and the increased demand for profitability have created new prospects for innovative power cycles. READ MORE

  3. 3. Heat driven cooling in district energy systems

    Author : Magnus Rydstrand; KTH; []
    Keywords : District heating; district cooling; thermal storage; humidified gas turbines; combined heat and power; cooling;

    Abstract : Abstract The threat of global warming, caused by increasingemissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), is one reason why cooling supply systems mustwork more efficiently in the world today. An increasing share,currently between 10 and 20%, of the global output ofelectricity is consumed to produce cooling. READ MORE

  4. 4. The role of absorption cooling for reaching sustainable energy systems

    Author : Susanne Lindmark; Viktoria Martin; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical engineering; Absorption cooling; trigeneration; district cooling; humidified gas engine; waste heat; Kemiteknik; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : The energy consumption is continuous to increase around the world and with that follows the demand for sustainable solutions for future energy systems. With growing energy consumption from fossil based fuels the threat of global warming through release of CO2 to the atmosphere increases. READ MORE

  5. 5. Evaluation of carbon dioxide insufflation into the open surgical wound : influence on wound temperature, core temperature, and postoperative outcome

    Author : Joana Frey; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Introduction: When the internal organ tissues are abruptly exposed to the relative cold and dry ambient air during open surgery, body heat is lost through radiation, evaporation, and convection. Also general and neuraxial anesthesia contributes to a decrease in core temperature, mainly due to a shift of the threshold for thermoregulatory defense mechanism toward lower temperatures. READ MORE
